I was just wondering if ay racket can use any string because sometimes certain strings are not available.
yes, any string can 'match' any racket combining certaint strings with rackets doesn't get you a bonus, stop playing diabloII
jerby, combining BG80 with ns9kX may give you Str +3 edit: combining BG65 with at900 may give you Endurance +2
Geee string? In case you want one that last very long, try piano string. Joke a side, I fine there is some difficulty fitting 0.80mm string through newer NS and AT grommet. However, most of people will not use 0.80 mm string on NS9000-x anyway.
aiksss.... i thought that is best to use the recommended string by the racquet's manufacturer... also string to its recommended tension.
This is all just marketing jive... Would you jump off a bridge and give your car to them for free if they asked you to? I didn't think so. Any badminton string, can go on any badminton racquet. Just as any grip can go on any badminton racquet.
thanks for the clarification. i thought when this manufacturer r&d new racquet, they will use certain strings for testing and get results. so, my thinking is that this racquet will perform at its best coz it been tested and recommended by the manufacturer.
yonex racquets usually have a recommended string for "power" and "control". personally, i just use the same string and tension regardless of which racquet its for. i believe most members on bcf do the same thing with their multiple racquets as well .
Aye, my apologies, I did not mean to come across as rude, or brash. It is true YY will test their equipment... but the marketing drivel they give us, should be used as a guide, not as a Bible as previously mentioned by our YY rep. After our own experimentations, each person can find out what suits their own needs moreso than what the manufacturer can discern... its like giving a general recommendation to try, but its not set in stone that the recommendation is always the best but it gives you an idea, what you can try. This also saves YY from having to answer 1000 emails asking what string to use
Just an example. If you have a BMW and the manufacture recommand using premium gasoline. Does that mean you can not use regular unleaded? No, you can use regular unleaded gas, it just won't perform as good as premium. If you have an 1995 Accord and Honda recommand regular unleaded gas. Does that mean you can not use premium gas? No, you can use premium gas, it will perform a little better, but does it worth $10 USD per tank in price difference? Only you can make that call.
It's about such combo "suitable" for you or not. If your claim is true, then all the pros are just stupid, as their tension are way over than the "recommened" range. Then, is that means they going to reduce their own performance? Of course, not. The string of choice is based on some "data", but such data might not be your own suitable choice. The tension is more for warranty concern, rather than performance.
Hey Jerby, next time when theres "Hex" strings or "Ith" rackets or even "white" grips tell me la, I will get plenty of those hahahaha Srry, just cannot resist to say that after hearing D2 hahaha
I got white grips.... what's wrong with them? I sometimes just get the feeling some folks think equipment choice is something magical, or too technical for them to comprehend... You'll be dissapointed to hear how technically inclined some pro's are. "I just like bg80" "I like my racket, why?" No blabber about balance, stiffnes or weight...they just use "what they like"
I have a question , i;m a beginner and my friend otld me too much tension for me is bad , what so bad about having 24lbs on my Armortec 500 ?
Probably a bit on high side. You could start with like 23 as a base line. Depending on what kind of string being used (thin or thick), this number will vary. Once you try it out, you will probably figure where to go from there,
They are BG 65 strings , my brother strung it to 24lbs for me and my friend said it's bad , what's the diffrence between high and low tention?
