Anyone loves watching tennis out there? French Open is coming soon. Can Nadal make it 3 in a row? Can Federer win the only Grand Slam that missing from his collection? I'm looking forward to it...
Yup, very much looking forward to the French Open and I hope Federer wins this Grand Slam tournament. It was great that Federer beat Nadal in the recently concluded Hamburg tournament and broke Nadal's winning streak of 81 matches on clay. http://www.atptennis.com/1/en/news/news6.asp
yup, me too, looking forward for this french open. i think is racquet problem. since federer uses k-factor keep losing... hahahhahha
I started watching much more tennis than ever before because of Roger Federer. Reason being is he plays tennis like he's playing badminton, i.e. uses alot of wrist..hehe... and he's a very good sports role model. someone that I wish I could be.
I watched the Hamburg Final live but It was so boring that I switched channel at the middle of third set before the match ended. To me, Federed didn't win it but Nadal lost it. If Nadal is gonna play like that, I'm not sure whether he can make it to the final. Anyway, I hope Nadal can recover in a-week's time and get pumped for the French. Go go go, Nadal...
Yeah most of the time I find Tennis somewhat boring to watch compared to Badminton (but I would wouldn't I? ). But hey I still like watching it a lot more than other sports . And yes I love watching Federer play. He plays smart. He doesn't just whack it like a lot of players do. Another guy I thought was pretty good like that was Tomas Berdych, a Czech player who I saw in the Hopman Cup. He was very interesting to watch. He played pretty smart and got some brilliant angles.
Here is my impression Borg-right skill at right time and cool hippy Conners-biggest heart and gives 110% every game McEnroe-most telented player ever with worse mouth and temper, only him can curse at ref like that and get a way Lendl-the best robot out there Velander-fun guy with consistancy Edberg-oh yeah, the kick serve Becker-serve and dive Sampres-almost perfect. great player with class Agassi-try hard and get lucky onece a while (Brook and Stephie) Federer-prob the greatest tennis player ever and most likely will not win the french in his life (die trying) Nedel-too bad, always second best and the only thing on his tumb stone is "the guy stop Federer from winning French"
I don't really think Nadal is that great... He's too predictable. To me he's just your pretty skilled but goes all out and holds nothing back type of player. He's not as dynamic (I'm hoping that's the right word heh) as say Federer.
Wasn't Edberg famous for his topspin serve while Becker his kick serve - I remember trying to mimic it so very often when I played tennis at Form 2 (which ultimately wrecked my badminton strokes)? Both were good grass court players but rather crap on clay. As for McEnroe - "You can't be serious!".
Yes, you are right, Becker has the kick serve and Edberg has the super top spin serve. No, I am not serious.
I've heard of McEnroe since I was 10. He was known as "Bad Boy" for his you-can't-be-serious-character. I started watching tennis since Sampras' era. Nadal, keep on preventing Federer from winnng French and steal some Wimbledon from Federer. Federer, when r u going to skip a couples of the Grand Slams? It's so boring see u keep on winning...
Can Nadal make it 3 in a row? Yes. As robin7 said, Nadal lost the Hamburg Master instead of Federer won it. I think Nadal was just tired winning the Italian Masters just 1 week ago and played a semi-final match against Hewitt. Federer had a longer rest after being knocked out in early rounds in Italian Masters. Can Federer win the only Grand Slam that missing from his collection? Yes. The way Nadal is playing, I don't know how long it will last. Maybe in 3 or 4 years, he will slow down and it will be Federer's turn. Federer has a better chance on clay than McEncore and Sampras because his ground strokes are better.
I want to see Serena Williams win the coming French Open after capturing the Australian Title in Jan this year. For WD, I wish Zheng and Yan can win it this time.
Federer to face Sampras in Shah Alam World number one tennis player Roger Federer will take on his predecessor Pete Sampras in an exhibition match on Nov 22 at the Malawati Stadium in Shah Alam. http://thestar.com.my/sports/story.asp?file=/2007/5/24/sports/17818481&sec=sports Anyone going?
Will Nadal be Björn again? Rafael Nadal will head to Roland Garros with a third consecutive title firmly in his sights. Only Björn Borg has achieved this feat in the past, while plenty of other players have tried and failed… http://www.rolandgarros.com/en_FR/news/articles/2007-04-26/200704261177607806640.html
