I disagree. You already see the amount of spam we get on the forums. What would an open source chat leave us open to? Hackers, key loggers, trojans, bots etc etc etc. I suggest sticking with msn at least we aren't sucking up Kwan's bandwidth with it.
Actually there are very effecient ways to prevent spamming and such on chats like irc. Quakenet alone has about 250 000 users, I don't think they'd use irc if they felt the same way as you do. I think setting up a channel into some network would be a good idea. What/Who is Kwan anyway?
