    Hi there :D

I've recently restrung my Forza Kevlar 7 (older version) with the Yonex Bg-80 at tension 24 but I doesn't really feel like I've got more power since before when I played with the bg-65 at tension 23...

I heard a lot about that Bg-80 in particular gives a higher repulsion thus more power..but then I saw the thread "Yonex String Chart" and I got a bit confused when I saw that Bg-80 is suited for hard hitters. Maybe I'm hitting the ball to soft to get gain the string's advantages? Recommending another one who gives power easily? :)

Thanks for your opinions and sorry for bad english ;)

The string that gives best power is a heavy racket.

for me, bg80 bounced a lot better than bg65...but it's also a lot stiffer.
seeing you played with 23lbs bg65, then switched to 24lbsbg80...you might be in over your head...

BG80 can give you more power if you can flex it.

/agree Dinkalot, BG80 is the way to go for power. At higher tensions, it's also good for touch shots at the net. Cheers.

MP string is good for power also and much more economical.

not economical, but PG66 is high up in the charts as well!
(and because it's a bit soft you can strign it 2-3lbs higher than you're used to and sound cool on court ;) :p )

Sor far I've tried the Ashaway top 3 most repulsive string.
    1)Micropower .66mm (most repulsive) + soft feel & control.
    2)Microlegend .69mm (2nd)
    3)PG 66 .66mm (3rd). Even the pg66(3rd) is more repulsive than Yonex BG66.

BG80 is thinner than BG65. Therefore, BG80 feels stiffer than BG65, even under the same tension. So, BG80 @ 24 is more likely to feel like BG65 @25 or 26lb range.

It takes a while to get use to the new string/tension combo. If you think it's totally out of your comfortable range, consider re-string with BG80 with lower tension. Btw, Yonex chart is just for reference only. Whatever works well for you, it's your own choice.

    power strings IMHO : micro power , bg 80(0.68mm) ( string lower tension if u cannot flex it ) , bg 85 (0.67mm) bg 66 (0.66mm)
Hope that helps! Btw based on what dinkalot says ... bg 80 and micro power are good in almost every aspect... but i feel that bg 80 gives more power and micro power retains ur tension better

@ temasek green: i've tried out MP 0.66mm, well it has almost the same as or even greater repulsion power than bg 66... crisp sound too... it seems that bg 66 and mp 0.66mm are identical, except for the string grip and color..:)

BG 66 and MP produces the best power... BG80 comes in at a very close 2nd.. with a loud bang.. you'll like it playing doubles with BG80...lol

I haven't try Gosen R4X100 and Gamma .64mm.But I heard Gosen R4X100 very repulsive, awaiting stock, still not yet marketed in Singapore.

If I always break the string I will go for BG80 off course, but I seldom break my string.
