    power....AT700 better
    control ...AT800 DEF better
    maneuverability ....AT800 DEF better...

one thing about at800 def....get 3U, 4U is lack of power when smashing (IMHO)...

    i would prefer AT800 DEF 3U over AT700 3U anytime.....for double play !

How big is the difference in power between the two racquets?

From a person who do not like AT racquets.

    1) AT700 has a lot more power than AT800d. AT700 sound much better on the smash
    2) Control for AT800d is better and AT00. however, once you get use to the racquet, the control is abou the same with AT800d is still better.
    3) AT700 is very hard to maneuver for me and I can not defend smash with it. At800d is much easier because it is not as head heavy and shorter shaft (from my memory)

In case of a offensive player with AT700, you can smash all day long and you will run out of energy fast if you can not win the point in few shots.
