Your opinion, can Zhang Jun be considered as a legend in XD?

No one can be a legend,until he/she's already quit.Even though we all know that this kind of achievements are rarely seen in XD.Kim/Ra is one of them.By the time,the achievements or maybe personalities will be the measurement.

Kim/Ra are at a class of their own. they are my idols ever since i picked up badminton. ^^ personally, i enjoy watching sudket/saralee, widianto/natsir as well as robertson/emms for different reasons. they are well, mixed doubles specialists i should say and watching them play is never a bore though they may be inconsistent at times.

only time will tell if zhang jun will be a legendary player or not but personally, i feel that gao ling is definitely the brighter star.

why are we having this discussion anyway?

Like him or not, he managed to step it up for the biggest event out there, twice. How many other guys have managed to do that?

There's no way ZJ can make legendary. As previously noted, he's only got the power smash. And on the court, you can always tell who wears the trousers.

His "almost legendary" status is mostly rubbed off of GL, whose pairing with HS is the next closest you can get to a legendary pair, just behind GF and GJ.

Without GL, he wouldn't stand a chance.

Speaking of GeFei, she is definitely the best WD player ive ever seen; 2nd to her is Ra KM; GL will only ranked 3rd in my list.

and thats enough to say that zhang jun is a legend indeed

2 OG gold medal,,world championship, all england, asian games gold medal, etc... still not a legend??hmmmmm

in double's the victory is not by one player effort,,, so zhang jun and gao ling deserve to be a legend by their effort...
zhang jun have a great mentaly,,not just a great smash,,, thats why he is a champion

coz ra is not good enough in single???
i mentioned that zhang jun partnered with zhang wei has won a tittle..

LEGEND will be remember from his/her bright achievement,,,and thats why some people say that ra kyungmin is a legend even her single's achievement is not good enough to be a legend,,,so...

I think it will be more perfect to say that Zhang Jun/Gao Ling could be considered as a legend in Mixed Double rather than ZHang Jun alone.
As XD is the game played by two persons and ZJ managed to achieve 2 gold medals at Olympic not because of his own effort.

i think it's gao ling factor, here

, zhan jun and zheng bo are worse when playing MD, for me both are ordinary player. when they pair up with gaoling they become 'the best' .. you can judge by your self ...
we can surely say gaoling is a legend

Even Kim/Ra have a better win/loss record against Zhang/Gao, Zhang/Gao beat Kim/Ra in major tournaments like OG and WC. Just like tennis, players use the smaller tournaments as a tune-up for the grand slams. In XD, the man covers 3/4 of the court. If Zhang is not good enough, they can't win so many champions. Unless Zhang stays in front most of the time and Gao covers 3/4 of the court, it's not fair to say Zhang won just because he partnered with Gao.

even though there is Gao Ling factor, but Gao Ling cannot achieve it alone either. So they are legend, no need to further debate whether Zhang Jun is a legend or not. History has recorded that they are Olympic champion twice including other good and bad results. So far only them and Ge/Gu can win Olympic twice

Maybe they are not the best XD ever and I don't think they really even bother to be remembered as legend, since they have a very achievement that not everyone can do hor.....
