Armortec 900 Power (subjective ratings) - Haven't owned one, but have only tried out briefly, so therefore my ratings might not be as conclusive as the other 2 rackets that I have owned and played with.

    (smash POWER) - 10

    (control) - 7

    (clear POWER) - 9

    (defense) - 8

    (maneuverability) - 8

    (stiffness) - 9

    (drive accuracy) - 7

    (vibration dampeding) - 7

    (sweet spot) - 6

(durability of frame and shaft) - 9 (same as the technique I would say)

    (over-all rating) 80/10 = 8.0

The thing I found with the 900 power was the sweetspot, which I felt was a lot smaller than the other 2 rackets. With the technique it wasnt so much of a problem because the shaft was medium stiff, so even if u didn't quite hit the sweetspot, power was still generated for clears. However, the 900P had a really stiff shaft so unless you hit the sweetspot, then conversion of power was difficult to achieve. Having said that, when you do hit the sweetspot, the shuttle goes :D ...

Overall, my ratings I felt were fair, even though they were subjective. Light frames meant they were better for defense and maneuverability, which the technique was. Even though, the 700 and 900 power scored the same, I would prefer the 700 because its (1) cheaper than the 900P, (2) a more approachable racket (meaning that the 900P is targeted more towards advanced + pros, while the 700 is more accessible to interms, advanced + pros, and (3) a much more proven racket (many people have used and loved the racket - "so don't fix something thats not broken". If the 700 racket is great and you know its going to be a good racket for you, then there isn't much point in going for the 900P if you don't know much about the playability of it or the gains from it. My guess is that the 900P is trying to be the replacement/ improvement of the already proven AT700, but the gains are too small to be recognised (unless you are a professional player, then this slight edge might be ideal for you, but for most players its not worth it.)

Hope this helps you. Hope others can give you a more definitive look at each racket. If you have more questions towards the technique then I can try and help as it is my racket of choice atm.

IMO, AT900P has more power than AT700, and AT900-T has less. Some inferor to AT700 aspects of 900-P are: 1. Clear too powerful tend to go out. 2. Netplay sucks, tend to go too high, contact time very short, hard to control. 3. Maybe more wrist-demanding ( It's a pro for me and some other ppl )

Now this gives me the urge to push harder and unleash the power inherent in the at900p. Otherwise, I would have second thoughts of selling the at900p and trying at900t. As you mentioned, I also found that clearing and lifting from net shots are unexpectedly powerful. At the same time I'm having problems executing killer smashes. Maybe this racquet needs more time to be accustomed to. Thanks:)

which is the best? and why.

    rate this 3 rackets.

    AT700

    smash POWER: 10

    control: 8

    clear POWER: 10

    defense: 8

    maneuverability: 7

    stiffness: 8.5

    drive accuracy: 9

    vibration dampening: 7

    sweet spot: 7.5

(durability of frame and shaft) 4! (only racket that consistantly breaks on me)

(over-all rating) average: 7.9 but in performance: 8.5 because it's got montrous power and its control is pretty good - then again rackets don't really give control, that's really the player adapting to the racket

    AT900P

    smash POWER: 10

    control: 9

    clear POWER: 10

    defense: 8.5

    maneuverability: 8

    stiffness: 7

    drive accuracy: 8

vibration dampening: 9 (kinda transforms the vibration into sound)

    sweet spot: 8

durability of frame and shaft: 7

(over-all rating) average: 8.45 but in performance: 9. I think the racket's just about perfect, only thing is i can't get the touch at the net that i get with the at700, i think it may be the strings though.

If i were to pick a favourite, it'd be the at700 because it gives a better feel than the at900, the at900 feels kinda hollow when you make a shot. Still, I think the 900's a better racket because i can get the power more easily, and the feel is something you can get used to. Right now i'm using it because my at700 broke >_< wtf!

~I don't really care to try the 900t because i think the ns9000 would be a better choice if that's your style. Plus, i think it's ugly and the 900p is the more attractive of the two :p

    hmm..

Out of these three (and as always, I am pussled by how people construct their "racket-selection-lists"... )

If You are a beginner or not very advanced player.. Just go buy the AT700/3U!!!

If You play mainly doubles...Just go buy the AT900T/3U

If You are a very advanced player, You have already figured out that You need to test all 3 and select the one You like the most, and for You, your optionons on which to choose will be far more important than subjective reviews posted here..

I would rather say: AT700 is much much softer than AT900s. AT700 is a guite soft racket after some days of use. Acceptable stiffness when it's new(still not as stiff as AT900), but soft out quickly after use.

Yeah I totally agree with this. Kind of what I was trying to say when I say it's more accessible to more people, as the 900P is much stiffer and hence harder to use (better for advanced people with advanced technique).

Having said that, at700 does require very good technique to be able to bring out its potential.

I would say the 700 is more powerful (dependent on the player of course). However, the 900P would be potentially the most powerful providing you can use it.
