hi, i want to get 2 rackets (2 different rackets), dont know what brand yet (preferably Yonex, because it's the easiest brand i can get) they are not for me but for 2 friends and here's what you need to know: level of play: beginner----*-----intermediate----------professional style: dont know (but doesnt matter) they are generally players with potential, they can improve with proper coaching. i want to get them both something that can help them along the way. budget: US$91 each racket (max) (rm310 / sg$140 / au$107) i may be buying the two rackets with another one (so minus here and there-discount) and i'll be buying in singapore (bras basah complex) edit: actually much preferably yonex...
actually ya i can add it to sg$150 edit...again: what i have in mind now is get one At-500 ($150), one mp88 ($150), ti-10 ($170) all prices in singapore dollars. what im uncertain about is that those rackets might not fit their level? what do you guys think? also hopefully i can get them at those prices, might not be able to...dont know.
"OK" is also relative right? or objective... (which word is it?) or maybe i can go down to at-300 instead of at-500... what about mp88, whats good below that (mp55, 66 ?? ) edit: (whats with me and editing!!!???) changing the ti-10 to ns7000? is the ns7000 easier to "ultilize" ? (not for them, its for myself)
yes. "OK" is relative. and also IMHO. for beginner it is better to get them something less stiff. but of course, whatever you pick in the end, i am sure your friends will be delightful to have receive a racket as a gift.
argh...very very good point... it only came to my mind after you mentioned it.. what yonex rackets are less stiff? originally (initially) i was looking at nctuff9 and nctuff8 both of them but they are classified stiff dont know the true stiffness.
AT300 and MP66 are good racquets for beginner to grow into. Sorry, don't know too much about NCtuffs becuase I have not have chance to order one yet...
MP 45, 66 & 88 are all good and are about the same stiffness. Only diff is 45=even balance, 66=headlight, 88=head heavy.
Quite frankly, i also suggest At500, its because it was the first mid range yonex racquet i got, and LOVED it, which made me move on to their AT700 =p
mp45 seems to be a good midrange racket, but the downside is its something they will have to change later on for sure. I used a iso 60 mf lite until recently i got my hands on a ti10 for free and now i cant play anything that isnt stiff as a bat and head heavy so i got a woven7. For beginners i say anything light is good. also less stiff is easier to use at first, but like i said before, just means you HAVE to change later.
My MP 66 is flexible and slightly head light, My MP 88 is even-head heavy and has a medium flex. Both these racquets are being discontinued and are already hard to find.
For mps, it's basically down to 45's and 99's that are still being produced. The 100, 88, and 66 have all been stopped though I still have seen the 100 and 88 being sold. The blue mp88 is the 2006 model i believe? Also 21 and 29 (never really see these around) Okie, now for my recommendation... Woven 8. I love this racket to death, it was the first none "noob" racket I got and I have not found anything else that replace it yet. It is a very durable, noobishly friendly racket to grow into, though I do get asked quite often why I like it by friends because of it's lack of presence in the market. Now for the yonex line recommandation... cab 30ms. It's a great racket to begin with and being an iso forces it's users to become more consistent rather then powering through everything. It is also pretty durable and cheap.
