ive just recently got into badminton in the last few weeks, i entered my highschool tournament of about 400 people and won. i just got an isometric 75 mflt with my winning gift certificate and i read that the factory string is garbage. i just want to know what kind and at what tension i should restring. i also would describe myself as a defensive control oriented player, but being 18 and having gone to the gym for almost 2 years i feel that i can also hit the shuttle pretty hard. any and all opinions and information would be very much appreciated.

If you want durability, go for BG-65 or NBG-95. For better power, you can try BG-66 or BG-80. String it at around 23 lbs. 23 lbs should be easy enough to handle for most.

yea so i called the local place to string rackets and all they have is BG-65 so im probably going to get that, my only worry is that on the side of my racket it says 15-20 lbs, and all the recomendations i got were above 20 lbs is that ok?

i have a iso mf 60 light and i believe it was strung around 18/18 (i had it strung at a tennis shop that has very poor badminton support, shouldve been 18/20 or 17/19) BUT my point is, i got these deep look dimple lookin marks from the strings. I haven't needed to get it restrung cause im rockin my new woven7 but im scared to get it restrung especially cause i wanna put it up to something higher like 24/26

    ill post pictures later..

the iso 75mflt has a pretty wide frame so i would say its safe to go past 20. I have a cab 8200 with a frame thats half the width of the iso's and its strung at 23lbs

Don't bother....until you get shoes, and since you said you recently got into badminton it probably doesn't affect you that much.

yea i think your right, but i play with tennis shoes that should fit the purpose. and by the way i just went to get it restrung today and the only string they had was bg-65 and 68ti something, so i strung the iso 75mflt at 20lbs with the bg-65.

bg66 is good, but wont be as durable as bg65. For the price i suggest going with bg80/85. costs a little more but its a better string, and just as durable. then again if youre a beginner, id just go with bg65 or an ashaway string. ashaway string rocks

I borrowed a ISO75MFLT strung with BG70 at about 23 lbs and it felt pretty good. It's durable too.

the racket or the strings? cause the racket is durable as heck! i drop, throw, toss, even kick :D, that racket around and its still as good at the day i bought it. One thing I will say is, right now my racket is unstrung and it seems between the b1 and b2 as well as b3 and b4 grommets it seems there are heavy stress marks from the string. I think the highest tension i've had done on this racket was 20lbs. im starting to string my own rackets so i'll test out what tension this racket can hold. Ive heard people have strung it up to the range of 25ish.

bg70s are also good durable strings :p

Yep, BG70 is the "night of living dead". The string is dead but it just won't break.

3 months isn't bad durability, especially if you smash hard.
