Well, I'd love to try out the strings for you, but I'm not a stringer. If you want stringer's input, however, I would be able to get that from my usual stringer.

I can help you with the test if you like. What are the test requirements and objectives. I have five identical racquets, a Prince stringer, and free courts to test with undisturbed. The only condition is that I will not string my own racquets above 24 lbs.

    Hi,
I can try out for you. I do string the racket myself. I may not be a very good player but I can find someone to test for you (if you need a really good testers). I currently use Yonex ISO Ti Sp with BG-66.

    Hi,
I have doubt on my string tension (32 lbs metioned by the vendor cum stringer--ProAce ti-66 string) of my new racquet (Proace titanium dream -- S$145), but during the play I have noticed that the string were distorted. Previously I have used ProAce racquet with 24lbs and the string didn't move while playing. So please advice me how to test the string tension.

    Thanks and Regards,
    sridhar

i think there is a device that can test string tension on a racket but it is a bit expensive and hard to find. If anyone know where to get one, i don't mind getting one myself too

I have seen a surface tension tester, but it is quite specialized. There must be some extrapolation chart between surface tension and string tension.

    sridhar:
Did you say that the Proace is strung at 32 pounds and there is string movement????

    Hi badrad,
Yes my racquet string moves, thats why I doubt the string tension. By my experienace(24 lbs previous racquet and I have compared with fellow player's racquet) the tension may be around 20--23 lbs. How can I test and prove it to the stringer.
Please advice any conventional method to test.

    Thanks and Regards,
    sridhar

Let your ears be your guide. The simplest test is to listen to the ping when you tap another racquet on the strings. A higher tension will produce a higher pitch ping sound. Although this is not a quantitative test, it gives you a rough idea whether the tension on the test racquet is higher or lower than the reference racquet.

I just tried moving the strings on a racquet I just strung last night at 25 pounds and the movement is almost nil.
