BG80 vs. NBG 95

Well I'm currently using bg85 at 24-25lbs which now is about less then 20lbs or so. I heard lots of good reviews for the BG80 but the problem is decided would BG80 suit me better or the NBG 95? To add I use a ns9k type x. I would get the strings that has the more repulsion,control,sound, etc. Since I'm planning to buy 10 packs of the string I want to make a good decision.Thanks.

BG80 has more repulsion but less durability and cost less
NBG95 has less repulsion but more durability and cost more

Hmm...what's the sound of bg80 at 26lbs?? I've tried bg85 and it's at a low tension right now which I hate but if I nail the sweetspot on a smash man the sound is quite nice for a low tension like that. Hmmm bg80 at 26lbs if I play 20 hours a week will it snap in 2 weeks lol?!

It will snap in 2 weeks if u play 20 hours a week unless you can't use 26lbs BG80 to the extrem. Actually I think it will be unplayable in 1 & half week. However, NBG95 won't be much better under this kind of situation.

^ I don't think any string has less control. It may be more or less stiff which you'll have to use technique or tension to adjust to.

I think the BG80 can produce some nice spin shots due to the rough texture of the string.

Hey azn_123, I don't think you need to worry about breaking the BG80's even if you were to play 168 hours a week (hitting strings against a hard ceiling edge excluded). Even your thinner BG85's have yet to show signs of serious wear after many months of play. I'm afraid you're just going to have to manually knife your existing BG85's and just restring it with whatever your next choice of string will be.

In other news, I will be bringing a speed radar gun with me on Saturday. Hope to see you at the courts azn_123 so then we can clock the speed of some of your smashes with your NS9K-X. Especially when it hits that sweetspot and makes that nice sound like you said ... you gotta show me that sound!

Cool...speed radar gun but the only problem is I can't go on saturday. AHHH I really want to go but I have to do something on saturday.

Ding! Unless you're Luke-Warm Doob or Taneepak, no racket/string combo is going to "magically" make you a significantly better player. Instead, focus on:

1) Footwork
2) Technique
3) Strategy
4) Rotation (in doubles and mixed)

Sounding like the broken record that I am, I cannot stress this enough.
