I have been playing badminton on/off for around 16 years and having had my last racquet for at least 10 of those years I feel its time for a new one. I mostly play doubles, like returning smashes with drop shots and generally uses clears and taps with the ocassionaly smash. I'm not sure if that helps but I would like something a little more powerful than what I am using now. At the moment that is a 10 year old carlton powerflo which has never been restrung but which offers lots of control. My price range is anything round $100
Kason TSF 100 and Sotx Woven-8 would be good for your type of play. They will offer much better control with a newer string and thinner one than the string that is on your racquet for 10 years. Both should be valued under 100 GBP.
Carlton Powerflo 807 Wide is good in term of power n control. Light and easy to swing but produce powerful shot of speed and sound when you smashing. It look "handsome" too. Here the detail Carlton Powerflo 807 Wide (2007) 85 g / G5 up to 28lbs (mine 25lbs) stiff iso head micro carbon even balance blackish colour scheme.
