I am from the southport and district leauge in lancashire and we as a leauge have just voted out the rules on these gounds.

1-Badminton england takes £6.00 oout of every £15.00 anual subs at the start of the season, and does very little for us.

2-Badminton england offer training for us but we are expected to pay up to £200.

As a leauge we were threatening to pull out at one point and we feel for what we give the leauge we should be given much more. What do you think and what does your leauge offer you?

mmm, if im not mistaken they provide us with insurance for tourneys and in my case matches in the acdbl... know the feeling though, dont really hear much from them apart from their annual newsletter at the beginning of the season.
Care to elaborate a little more on your situation, when you say "we" are you reffering to the comitee that runs/ organises the league...

Well as a leauge we have an AGM every year and a couplof years ago our subs went up from £6 to £15, not much in the grand scheme of things i know yet it is the principle of the charges when we see little done for us. As a leauge we remaind under the durestriction of badminton england but we still wanted more done.

Yet when the new rules were forced upon us a vote was taken and a 96% majority wanted to stay with the old rules, so we informed badminton england we would not be changeing to the new rules. As a leauge we see little active involvement from badminton england, and we feel that considering the amount of funding we provide them each year we should see some benefits.

It would be intresting to ask from the forum if other leauges got a vote on the new rules or if your commite forced you to change?
