U-shaped grommets, why?
Some racquet have these grommets installed near the throat area, some don't. What's the purpose of these grommets compared to normal grommets?

yeah maybe... though in that case, all racquets should use those grommets. However, these grommets can only be put (on my D600) in the spots i mentionned above. In other places, the grommet holes are too spaced apart to fit the U-shaped grommet.
also, why are they usually only used near the throat area?Last edited by jsunsun; 06-21-2007 at 01:23 AM.

Do a search and you will find there are posts on this subject already. Yes, they are use to produce some MP grommet effect. It is for the 4 center mains to move more freely. This will help reduce string break during hard smash and suppose produce harder smash with same force. Only 1 draw back which Yonex does not mention. It will wear out the jacket of crosses in the sweetspot area faster. But most of people don't care any way.
