I feel the post count should be removed. Instead, allow signatures.

I agree with signatures. Post counts don't really mean anything....

I think the post count does not mean a lot. I prefer to read threads which people have an angle on. Since becoming a member I have enjoyed many threads from Sir Dink from his equipment chart's to his "stringing a racquet video". I can see his love for the game shines out and for me that's what it is all about. It's all about quality and not quantity. :)

The other thing I have found is there are quite a few members here that are simply abrasive and want to argue about anything. So they rattle on about rubbish which in turn icreases their post count.

I would generally be against signatures, as a complete waste of bandwidth and server resources, but as there is a user option to not display signatures I suppose I could live with it.

Either signatures or avatars (or both) would be great :). I guess it could be a potential problem for the mods though... Still we could give it a go and see how it turns out right? It's amazing how quickly the topic changed lol...

Post counts does not mean anything, and sometimes can't be used to judge whether the information provided are trust worthy or not. It's the reader's responsibility to "filter" whether you want to agree with the contents or not.

Just for the post count to boost up posts # is very much meaningless.

All Kwun has to do is allow signatures with a click of a button. :)

the problem with signature is that it really clutters the forum content. and then ppl put ridiculous things in their signature which totally distract readers from the actual discussion. the discussion is what the forum is about.

a good example is what happened with badders.com. they used to allow signatures, and ppl have the most ridiculous messages and images in there. as a result, badders eventually turned off the signature feature.

i don't think BC should be going backwards and allow signatures.

I was actually referring to ideally:

    1) 150x150 avatar
    2) one line to write some witty phrase or message...text.

    That's all I ask. :p

I agree, but in my opinion avatars should be allowed/displayed instead. They're right under the nickname anyway, so they won't be taking any room from the posts either. They're occasionally fun anyway, an at times it might actually display the image of yourself, like on my profile.

Anyway, the post count doesn't really tell you anything since it automatically counts every post you do, be it utter bullsh*t or not.
