Hi, I'm kinda new here, so hello everyone! So yeah, trying to get back into the game. Except my stamina just sucks at the moment. I'd like to get it back up the quickest way possible. Can I get some advice on this? Thanks!
If you're not in too terrible shape, try doing hard intervals with 20 seconds on, 10 seconds off. After about four minutes, you'll be done your workout, and the high intensity will be a great way to improve your aerobic capacity. It's been shown that this protocol can improve V02Max better than a 1 hour long, low intensity workout.
Correct me if I am wrong, but I believe high VO2max will enable you to substain greater speed without running out of breadth. For staying power, you still need those long runs.
For most sports, what's important in terms of energy systems is the ability to sustain a high power output. In badminton you have a mix of anaerobic and aerobic power. Having a high V02max means that a smaller proportion of the power comes from the anaerobic energy system. What results is a) you're able to sustain a pretty decent average power output as your base power output b) you have a greater reserve of high power available In recent years, there's been a big shift away from long-distance running as a training method for sports other than running.
Quit smoking if you are by any chance a smoker..... My friend said he felt like a new person on the badminton court ever since he quit smoking a while back. If you never smoke before, the easiest way to increase stamina is to follow the "G.O.Y.A" formula. G=Get O=Off Y=Your A=A*s
JUMPING ROPE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! start small like 300 too 500 then steadily increase it when you think you can take it
Usually, wat i do is to use time to measure not by number of times as its easier, counting after every skip is like burden. . But maybe by counting, it train your focusing like being able to concentrate when you are exhasuted.
Try playing long practise rallies. Then you'll be sweating it out for a long time continuously. Or try distance running. It builds stamina really fast, but you have to practise, and keep at it.
i think the best way is to mix intense and slow exercises. do interval sprints, 20 seconds on, 10 seconds off, about 6 times. make sure you go flat out from the word go. it's better to tire out after 4 than feel slightly tired after 6. then mix that in with long distance running. should be good.
stamina eh!? find a local track, and start doing laps until you almost fall over =p and then repeat the next day
it's not quite as easy as that. you should have a planned weekly rountine. not just go out and run. it's not as effective. some can achieve in 15 minutes what others take 45 minutes to achieve.
