Hey guys I got a ti10(the old color)as a gift. How do I know if it is 3u or 2u, and whether it was pre 04 or post 04? Thanks It's strung with bg85 at 26 and the power is incredible.
Have a look at the silver-black label stuck to the cone, that should tell you what weight and grip size it is. Take a look at the shaft - see if it says 'Ultra High Modulus Graphite' or 'Very High Modulus Graphite' - the latter usually means the post-04 version.
Just read at the cone, there is a sticker that says weight and grip size. I mean to remember that the second last number on the cone is the year of production. Please correct me if i'm wrong.
Amazing, thanks guys. The racket is in the car and I'm too lazy to look but I'm sure it's ultra instead of very.
Don't just put it in the car man. You don't come across a Ti-10 often. It's rare now..Take care of it..Happy badminton life with Ti-10.
It's in a bag in the trunk so it's all good. I live on the 11th floor here in Beijing and I don't want to bring it up and down every day. I'm still wondering how he managed to get a new pre 04 one. Not that it's necessarily better, it just makes me wonder. Are they really that rare now?
it depends on how cold/hot it is outside. rackets gets damaged when they are exposed to extreme heat or cold. even when they are sitting in the trunk/boot of a car. it is usually fine if the car is not exposed to direct heat, like inside a parking garage. in extreme heat, like when the car is left under a hot sun, the resin that holds the carbon fiber together will melt. in extreme cold, like in a snowy winter day, the racket gets brittle and may crack when used.
Umm.. Thanks for the advice guys! I'll use it wisely. I still can't get used to the racket. Going from mp23-ti10 is so drastic. All of a sudden my racket has 100x more power.
Ti-10 is a very good and rare racket. I wish someone would give it to me as a gift. I only have one and I rarely use it. If I remember correctly, ProAce Sweetspot 1000 does have the warning printed on it. It says something like don't expose the racket to extreme condition like leaving it in your car trunk.
