i've seen alot of racquets like that too butin the more conventional square head shape.. not oval/round like this. Some styles are best left in tennis.

Unusual indeed, that thing looks more like a tennis racket than a badminton racket, only thinner.

did you grab that pic from Ebay?

Prince racquets have a similar design and it is definitely awkward.

I was going to say that too. I hate Prince rackets, Their design is soooo awkward, you cant get nothing on the shuttle. No fancy little slices, and when i hits the bottom lot of strings, well, it's awful.

I am going to bid it!!!
It is a good collection items, but I don't think it would have good playability.

That is one ugly racket.
It must be discontinued or something, since that is the old carlton logo. Lack of sales probably.

carlton doesn't make squash racquets. The three badminton birdies stenciled on there (Carlton's logo) is hint enough it's a baddy racquet

That racket is squash for sure. The frame, the stringing, everything is done as a squash racket. It must be photoshopped or something. There is no way that was ever meant to be a badminton racket, look at the stringing, look at the whole frickin thing lol.
Well..i'm not a squash fanatic and this may only be a guess..but from the squash rackets i've seen, they've all had thicker shafts than the racket above. I believe that if you used the racket above to play squash, then the shaft would definately snap just observing how thin/skinny the shaft is. But like I said, I'm not a squash equipment expert..so I may be wrong, anyone want to comment?
I would agree that it DOES have characteristics that make it LOOK like a squash racket, but the design of the shaft and the body paint proves in my opinion to be a badminton racket, an awkward looking one...

sry for double posting..but i forgot to mention another opinion..
Looking more and more at the pictures, I am beginning to believe it's more of a badminton racket. Thinking back to 2 summers ago when I was in ottawa..my cousins and I went out to play badminton and just so happens, I recall one of my cousins using a racket VERY VERY similar to the one in the pictures. At the time, I really thought it was a squash racket and asked my cousin about it..he told me that it was indeed a badminton racket but a very old model? To me, I think it's very similar to the one in the pic ...but my cousin isn't a huge badminton fanatic so maybe he could have been wrong about the racket as well.

It IS a badminton racket, as weird as it looks. I've played with one before. Belonged to a friend who broke it after playing with it for many years. If you don't look at it while you're playing it feels like a "normal" racket. Interesting sweet spot, as you can imagine. Oh, said friend now plays with a Prince Y-joint.

It is a badminton racquet. It would have a larger and lower sweet spot than the traditional oval-shaped racquet.
Like everything else, new technologies takes time to be adopted unless it is from Yonex, eh?
FY, definitely a collector's item since Carlton is not making those any more
