Just curious, why was he nicknamed "monkey"? Did he do the somersault in the court?

Ha, this question has been asked so many times before. He was nicknamed 'Monkey' by all his friends since he was small. Maybe cuz so hyper-active all the time, loud person and looks a bit like a cute Monkey too.

I wonder whether TCS can still remember me? After all I took a pic with him, Ayu being the camera woman.

u mean, "senior" Kuan? He thrashed all small fishes in the qualifying rounds and fenced off uncle Roslin... so??? Lets see how he face Boonsak later... I'll be there to witness, for sure

Dato ah, that one havent count prize distribution for GP Gold (R16 for MS) & SS (Round 1 of main draw). The news was in Jan/feb 2008, aft that no update, so dunno if got raised.

Latest is want to go SS tourney also prob, according to Berita Harian, 21 May 2008.

“Malah jika kita lihat kepada senarai pemain senior, melainkan (Lee) Chong Wei, yang menunjukkan peningkatan, yang lain tampak sudah terbantut prestasi dan tidak mempamerkan apa-apa perubahan dalam prestasi mereka.
“Tetapi pemain senior ini masih lagi diberi peluang dan pendedahan untuk bertanding dalam kejohanan tertinggi dan pemain saya pula terpaksa menumpukan perhatian kepada pertandingan satelit.

“Bagi saya, Mohd Arif, Chun Seang dan beberapa pemain muda lain seharusnya dari sekarang lebih kerap didedahkan kepada pertandingan berstatus tinggi bagi memastikan pembentukan ke arah pemain senior berbakat tidak mengambil masa lama,” katanya.

Basically Rashid Sidek lack of funds caused the back-up players to get less exposure, want to go major tourneys no chance, want to go smaller ones also must line up.
Rashid felf TCS, Arif, etc, needed exposure in major tourneys in order for them to catch up with the seniors.

Response from BAM GM & NSC official the next day, BH, 22 May 2008 :
1) BAM's Kenny Goh : Rashid had to wait till after OG, when the some from senior squad would be dropped & the back up squad promoted.to senior squad (rombakan besar-besaran)
2) NSC Official in charge of development (pelapis) said there's budget for the young guns to go but not just send everyone to everything. NSC wanted to be more selective, depending on player's performance (bergantung kepada prestasi.....menunjukkan persembahan yang baik tidak menjadi halangan untuk MSN).
Hmmmm, if keep going small tourney, can improve or have to beat some middle level player 1st consider "good performance" ??

And..... yesterday's press (28 June 2008) as you read in Hafiz's thread... BAM President said players performance would be reviewed, some dropped, this includes back-up squad.

Oh yeah, related to TCS, that's why I said things will change (for the better) for TCS when he gets promoted to senior squad after OG.
