Hello, I was wondering if I string a racquet at around 23lbs with a BG-85 and not play with it for about half a year. (maybe just some light taps indoors) Do you think the tension would hold? I know it would still drop a little, but would it be alot? Thanks.

It depends on the weather, temperatures, etc.Lots of factors could affect that.R u planning to do it?Why dont u string it after that half a year?or restring it later on..no big deal i guess,if u want a maximized output.

It is because it will not be very convenient for me to string it after half a year later. Because it is very convenient for me to do it next month. =/.

My usual tension is 22lbs anyways, so I left some room for the string to loosen.

The tension will lose, depends the factors that smichz listed. However, once string is naked in the air for such a long time, the string itself will feel very dead, regardless the tension. If you really focus on the string performance, definitely need to re-string it.

    I disagree.
    I strung a Carlton Airblade AS1 with BG66 at 21lb in October 2004.
I used it a couple of times then stuck it in a cupboard.
I have started using it again in the last month and it still plays good, and feels like at least 20lb.

Maybe it's different for different strings, but that is my experience.
