this is somewhat similar to this thread: http://www.badmintoncentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=44012 the only difference is that i will be using this racket for doubles. i dont really want to go past $100 CAD either, and i guess it doesnt have to be yonex. anyways, for the past year i have been using a 3U Cab 8200 Light. in short, in the right hands it is an amazing racket for doubles. but i can feel its time to step up.. since i have drastically improved in about a year, i would like something where i can use more power. its not like i cant get power with my cab, i have BG70 @ 20 lbs and it does the job. but i can feel the difference with power, comparing to my 3U MP99 with BG80 @ 22lbs. you really have to get a full proper swing to get the most out of the cab. i love the instant response i get with the cab; its like when i react my body is doing its own thing and my mind isnt even keeping up but i do not want something pricy like an AT800DEF/900T. i dont want to worry about possibly breaking it in a racket clash. before i didnt care much about my cab, but now i do because recently my local sports store (sportchek) has suddenly stopped selling them. i have been incredibly careful with it since, but still. an ex. is tonight, i was very late getting to a shot at the corner of the net, and i scraped/banged my racket on the wooden floor lifting the bird. that was alarming, and something i didnt want to happen. so, can anyone recommend me a racket? thanks.
interesting. i will look around and see if i can find this in stores around here in Canada. anyone else?
Is there really such thing as a double racquet? There are professional players using MP100 for double. And MP100 is suppose to be a single racquet!
nothing wrong with my MP99 for doubles, i just dont wanna use it for doubles i dont wanna risk breaking it in a racket clash. im a student here, so im not rich. MP100 wouldnt be bad, except i cant afford that lol. nor would i want it, because again i wouldnt want to risk breaking it playing doubles.
SOTX Woven 8 Not that I personally classify a racquet as a singles or doubles racquet, but based on your price range, I would suggest a SOTX Woven 8. Pretty popular, nice price point, good feel, durable and at a fraction of the cost of a Yonex racquet. You may still need to shop around or find a good used one to accomodate yoru budget though
hmm good call RSX. i recall you sell Woven 8s, so i will keep you in mind =) gonna look up victor rackets now.. see if i find something.
Try RSL! Been using it for three years now its Attack 3200 model and been into several clashes with my double partners with none or only paint chips damage. It's really strong! It's light at 3U and its stiffness gives power. Unbelievably the price - cheap for its standard!
