I have been using the armortec 500 but kinda got bored of it and want something new, should i get the 900 D or 700? I am more of an attack person i guess but my clears arent deep enof... what racquet should i get? I like to smash but can smash perfect everytime... Can you guys help me decide?
Well the At900 P is head heavy and stiff while the At700 being extra stiff( actually more flexible) and is more head heavy than the At900 P. This meaning that the At700 would be more suitable for singles and At900 P for doubles. But if you have the right technique and have strong wrist than At700. Best way to tell what is best for you is to go to a shop and demo a couple of rackets because rackets ppl choose are based on personal preference. I may like the AT900, but it doesnt necessarily mean you would.
Hmm, well im sure some nice people around BC would like to help you out =] Try looking around for some threads because their have been countless threads discussing topics on the At 900 T & P
I assume you are in Fremont CA? If so, there are several badminton facility with pro-shop to demo racquets in San Jose. Give them a try.
I'm sorry..what was that? do you have any friends with an at700? maybe you can hit with it sometimes..
Sounds like at900p would be a harder racket for you to use because if you cant smash perfectly everytime (not everyone can i bet - but if u are mishitting more than u are striking clean i mean) then ur not gonna get very much out of this racket as it is not very forgiving with a very small sweetspot and all.
IMO i don't like nanospeed at all, i can not generate enough swing speed to get the power out of them. If you play singles more get the 3U at700, if you play doubles more then get 3u at900p.
I hear that people using nanospeeds don't play very well with them in singles. Unless of course u r someone like chen hong who uses an 8000 and kicks ass! On a more serious note, nanospeeds are predominatly head light. I would suggest a head heavy racket, or at least a mid balance. A head light racket, if you are not seriously good at the sport maybe harder for you to generate those clears. at700 is good, but maybe too head heavy for you, i don't know. If out of the 3, you dont like the 500 and my suggestion is that the 900p is too advanced (unless u feel u are good enough for it) then the 700 would be the obvious choice. However, there are other brands out there. an at700 is a lot of money and i don't want to buy and then realise its not right or u'll get bored of it. So I would wait for others to maybe suggest other branded rackets, such as SOTX, forza etc. Yonex are good, but ion certain needs and departments, there are others that do the job as well if not better, but with half the cost.
I switched from AT500 to a 4U AT700 and I found a little extra zip when I needed it. However the price is quite a bit steeper. I think if I was a little more skilled, I wouldn't pay premium for a racquet only slightly better. AT900 will be closer to the AT500 in balance while the AT700 will be closer in flex.
Get better strings for more bang =). I previously used an AT500, but it broke, so I went for 700, because its easier to generate power, it's not to stiff for me, and it's cheaper than the 900P.
