From what people have said, the old and new have no difference except color and forgot to print "Ultimum Ti" on the new one.

Some adjustment for timming. I say give or take about 1 week or 3 session for smashing and about 3 weeks for defense. (or never if you never have a defense to start with).
Just get the new color, you get the warrenty with it. If you never own a AT700 before, you can't tell if there is a difference anyway. By the way, there is only 1 difference between old and new AT700. The color scheme!

The sweetspot on the AT700 is higher up, and it'll feel the similar due to it's lighter weight, but heavy head.

I have played with my friend's armortec 700 before I bought the mp100, and I liked it a lot. I'm more of a doubles player,is the at700 suitable for it?

I am using AT700 3ug4 currently for double games.
I think the most problem is doing manouver. However, 4U will surely overcome this problem. Other things are great, love to waiting at the back and ready for "BANG"

I've used both, and I find that feeling of the head heavy 4U At700 really added an extra 'oomph' to my smashes. I also find the At700 more forgiving and somewhat easier to use, although my opinion my be biased.

I see, thanks for the opinions guys. Anyways what strings should I get for it? or should i still stick with bg65? I have used a 900 technique with bg65 before and it still kicked ass

Strings are quite personal preference, tension is more critical I think.
BTW I planned to buy 900T for spare. Pls let me know if you have given a try on AT700 and how it compares with your AT900T.

Hi! GunBlade008 said that AT 700 4U gave you better smashes - I'm looking for a new racquet and was thinking about AT 500. I just don't know which to choose 3u or 4u. I know that 3u is more powerfull but what about defense? And on the other hand, what about the power with 4u? Once I read that you feel the shuttle too much - is it known to get the injury from 4U racquets? I know that you get injury from light and head heavy tennis racquets, what about in this case (I'm thinking logicaly: if I'll take light racquet I'll be fast and because it's head heavy it will be powerfull.:) Any comments?

that's good, i have a 4U strung with bg80 @ 26lbs. just try not to get into clashes as the at700's durability is not that good. especially 4Us.

Go for 3U, the AT500 isn't as head heavy as the AT700,so it's good for defense. The heavier weight means more power, but the defense and control are still great. Not to mention 3U AT500 is more durable than 4U.

Thanks Athelete! Do you know perhaps why is AT 300 not so popular regarding that it is very similar to AT 500 but slightly less stiff? I was thinking a lot about stiffness and one of my thoughts was why do we need so stiff racquet that we can bend it during smashing if the most strokes are on the medium power and "in the rush" so you can't acctually bend the racquet every time you make a stroke? AT 500 is pretty stiff...

At500 is also very forgiving on off-center hits, and probably gives more power. I haven't tried the AT300, but the AT500 is an excellent racquet.
