You have to read www.tomshardware.com and computer magazines, in order to understand my fanaticism for computer hardware .

Umm, ahhh, yeah, whatever Maybe that's what Pete's getting all excited about. hehe. Actually I got the case because it has a fan at the front and back of the case. The front fan blows over the HDDs. The back fan is close to the cooling pipes. However, I do have another fan that is directly over the CPU. There are some air vents on the side of the case as well. All in the name of cooling.

I use to read the tomshardware every day. Since I found my new home here, only once a week.

Anybody heard of Lubic? I thought it's the ultimate construct case for a highly overclocked pc. Without plaxiglass covering, your unit can be air-cooled with minimal fans drawing unnecessary power. Looks really vulnerable to spills and dirt without plaxiglass installations. Also it could radiate too much heat for your liking.

For a simpler but more secure case, I recall a friend of mine who took off the top of his desktop case and put it under a small glass table on top of his workstation. It makes maintenance fairly simple with just air can clean occasionally. He overclock his unit pretty high.

Just for your feedback, when I open CS2, it takes 5 seconds (I just timed it).

    Very impressed now!

I now promote/demote you to computer geek (depends on who you talk to).
So, 5 seconds is considered crucial eh...hmmm...then there are plenty of things to buy to turn your current 'BMW' into 'Lamborghini'.
First thing to do is get rid of the 'iCute' logo.

Not five seconds faster than previously but five seconds Never timed it opening on the old computer but it did take ever so long.

It's not what the iCute label says but what's underneath that counts Still have yet to get the 2nd HDD.

Got a software conflict last night. I installed avast antivirus and the system got messed up. Uninstalling partially helped but now the computer won't switch off from XP, have to physically switch the power off!

You should use "System Restore" in XP. Create a restore point before you try new software and go back when things don't work out. Save you a lot of hassle.

I bought the 22" Dell. They dropped the price just over 50USD from when I first saw it to just a couple of days later. So I got a couple of a good deals - cheaper quad core and a cheaper 22".

Just plain lucky - it doesn't usually happen that way to me.

Dell Singapore and I presume most other countries has this policy: if the price drops within 1 week, you can ask Dell to refund you the difference.

Anyway, regarding the iCute casing, I hope you are not using iCute power supply, there have been reports in hardware forums of icute power supplies blowing up.... (smoke, but no fire, fortunately). Good power supply is one of the most neglected aspects of a computer.
