Hi! Let's make a survey of balance points of our ready-to-go racquets (with strings and grips). Just point the finger and find the balance point measured from bottom of the handle. We will see where is the average and median... and which racquets are more desired :).

Mine old Yonex ISO 90vf 3U: 255mm (bg65, 2 thin grips). What is yours?

The difference mass for strings should not be significant, but the different grip might make a big impact on the accuracy of the data. 1 thin layer of ultra thin overgrip is very much different than 1 thick towel grip.

I've found that my AT500 didn't feel quite as head heavy without the string, though I didn't measure it ...

Differences in grip and strings weight doesn't matter here because I just want to see where do you guys and girls have your racquet balance points during the play (which feeling do you like - head heavy, head light?...). But it is also useful to know the weight of your racquet if you can measure it.
Acctually, the balance point of unstrung racquet is questionable because as LazyBuddy said different grips and strings weight different...

Thank you DinkAlot! I would also like to encourage others to enrich this data pool with their balance points!

all these carlton racquets are 665mm, "normal length" oval racquets.
all gripped with one layer of yonex supergrap directly on the wood.
grip size is equivalent to somewhere around a yonex G3.5 to G4

    Sotx D500: 278mm and 275mm

I had to do some gripmodding. It started as a G4-4.5 and is now a G3...

    and no, it's not headlight...but that's me..and a done-to-death discussion ;)

EDIT: just to mention...since it's not a really familiar racket: it's ~87grams (not anymore I know :p) 670mm long slightly stiff and slightly headheavy (came in at 294mm or so)

 That's really not expensive! How many brands can you buy in your town? I can choose only Yonex models here which are more or less expensive (AT 700 = 128 EUR ~ 96 $) and a very few cheap Carlton, Victor and Wilson models. And yes, Pacific racquets! Does anybody know them?

    thats the powerblade superlite.

if they had the airblade superlite being sold for 50 dollars plus tax, i would of bought every single one of them already. and thats if someone else haven't bought it already!!!

i have to go through a much more difficult search process for my racquet.
doing a small search will show you that i'm not alone in my search. :p

i like the racquet and its discontinued... so i buy more when i can.
i'm actually down to six of the 2003 models. two of them are broken. but that doesn't mean that the data is irrelevant, right?

besides, eight isn't all that much. dinkalot has nine cab20's right there. and thats a fraction of his collection! haha

Of course, broken racquet counts! Balance point didn't change unless you balanced just one half of the racquet ;). When there will be sufficient data I will average balance points of each racquet collection and then average the whole pool of data.

One question for those who have a collection of racquets; do you use them or do you place them on view beside the golden cups? :)
