    Hi BCBF Members,

I would like to compile some info on place and cost in your area. Please help me and post the place you go to string your racquets and price you pay for the following 2 type of strings (in local currency/USD). This will help other members to decide where to get their racquet serviced. Please no private stringinger because they the love of badminton is priceless.

    Thanks again

Name of Shop: Panda's String House. Doesn't normally string for the public but does so on occasion. Normally strings for panda, close friends and panda's double's partner.

Cost for BG65 (local/USD): $15 strung for the typical Joe; $10 strung for close friendsl free for my Double's Partner or Kwun.

Cost for BG80 (local/USD): $18 strung for the typical Joe; $12 strung for close friends; free for my Double's Partner or Kwun.

Rating -1/0/+1 (bad/ok/good): I think panda strings OK.

Story (not too long): it takes panda paws a bit longer to string but panda is willing to do the work.

    1) You are in LA! You can not be everywhere.
    2) Your "House" is one of the best and fastest place in LA. However, it is not "Usually" open to public. It is a better club than Score!
    3) I want the official price. Did SGVBC stop stringing business because you just took over the stringing op?
    4) Did I see the sign say "Will work for Bamboo"?

    Hi Cooler,

So, it is safe to say cost for BG65 = $20+-5 CAD or you do not have their price?

    Thanks!

Please give the definition of private stringingers. I know there are local gym owners / managers either string themselves or collect jobs to give to the shops / private stringers. They have a list of fixed prices, and openly accept business (during open gym time, mostly). However, none of them really own a physical store front or being licensed.

The only ones own physical store front are the big sports chains, and most of them have no clue about badminton stringing. Of course, my suggestion is "NO NO".

One suggestion to the rating is to give a wider range. I would like to see a scale of 10 rather then 3. Maybe 1 to be "very bad", and 10 to be "excellent"?

    Just my 2 cents. ;)

    Thank you LB.
I would like to def non-"Private Stringer" as following all fits.
    1) Do openly accept business (open or calling).
    2) Do have a set price for anyone ask for stringing service.

Yeah, I think -5 for bad. 0 for OK and +5 for excellent.

Help me LB, did I miss anything?

The 12.50 labour charge may just be for if you supply your own string.
They might be a little bit cheaper if you buy the string from them.

i dont know much about stringing quality but so far it has been good. no major problem. and here in Ipoh, malaysia, if you bring your own string or if you buy from the shop, they will charge you RM5 for stringing. that would be about USD1.45 per stringing. :D

£8/USD$16.8 for labour charge if you bring your own strings. 2 ladies run the shop, v friendly and helpful, former county players. Operates from within their own house, so may be hard to find for 1st timers!
