I've been using Black Knight's rad cushion grip for awhile, and am very happy with how it feels. However, after a few weeks, sweat has taken its toll, and the grip now gets slippery when damp. Does anyone know of something I can use to make my grip more tacky and where I could get it?
It IS tacky, but very expensive (about $10 per grip). The grip is incredibly durable and feels great, but loses tackiness after a lot of sweating. I really like the grip, and I would rather find a way to renew its tackiness instead of switching to a different one.
dab some adhesive on it. it'll stick for sure. well, it's to be expected after a couple of weeks. time to change, that's all.
no matter how sticky your grip is, it will get slippery in the presence of sweat. there are a few way to make the problem better: - wipe hand often - get 2 identical racket and switch between them - apply those grip powder (do a search to find out what they are) - use wrist band, they stop some sweat from flowing down from the forearm - switch to towel grip i use one of the tackiest grip in the market, i am not as big a sweater as others, despite so, my grip will get slippery after a while. i use a combination of method 1) and 2) above.
Try Yonex grip powder, for me it works very well. But I use it only when my grip gets slippery, not all the time.
Thanks, I'll see if I can get my hands on some grip powder. In Canada, I don't know how much luck I'll have, but it's worth a try. If I can't get any, I guess I'll just take Kwun's advice and use towel grip.
Black knight rad grip isnt tacky compared to other grips. Take a look at Dinkalot's grip review. Id recommend Gamma Supremes because they are moisture absorbing and tacky, the best of both worlds IMO =]
grip powder is a good way to go, or you might apply some double-sided tapes on grips. (maybe it's too sticky that you can't even move your fingers!)
did you watch "something about mary" A little bit of Cameron Diaz and the result is "super tacky" for you eheheeh jj
i bought this stuff from a local hockey store called "stickum" is like an aerosole tacky spray. i used it for baseball for my bats, and the stuff works awesome on my yonex super grap....u can get it all over the place
Which shops can i get this at exactly? I live in Mississauga Canada. Maybe National Sports? Sport Chek?
i think it's more logical to use cheaper grips, as i found that the "tackiness" lifespan for most grips are rather similar. makes more sense for me to buy them cheap so that i can change them often
i got mine from ward and patch sports....i dont think they sell it at like sportchek...call before you would go to national but they might have it
