I was just wondering how all other members here at BC do their low backhand doubles serve. What techniques etc. do you do to keep the serve low and right on the line? For me, since I'm kinda short, I got on my tippy toes to get some more height so I can keep the serve low and still get it over. It seems to work for me. And I try to have the shuttle at the highest point in the air before it goes past the net so it drops while going to the line for a lesser chance of the opponant attacking right away and forcing them to either lift or place a net shot. I thik Gollum wrote a brilliant article on the serve. for me, I serve with a slight 'undercut' slice, and try to serve a little deeper than the line (safety, and against rushers). Though my bets advice would be: keep the motion simple and consistent(ly repeatable)
Does Tan Boon Heong go on his tip toes to serve? For me, I just try to get it as low and close to the service line as possible.
Yup, Tan Boon Heong goes on his tip toes as well. I would imagine that going on tip toes would be even more affective if you were a tall person as u can pretty much like make it drop right at contact with the bird
