Hi, I am looking for badminton lessons,
Has anyone taken lessons at Bonsor Recreation Centre or does everyone just go to ClearTwo and Richmond Pro?

Also, has anyone taken lesson from Richard at Trout Lake Community Centre?

I live in Burnaby so I really don't want to go all the way to Richmond to take lessons. Does anyone know any good badminton group lessons in Burnaby or Coquitlam?

    Thank you

Some starting information would be great...

    (1) age (under 13 / teen / adult)
    (2) where do you currently play
    (3) if possible, describe your current experience, abilities, and what you are trying to achieve by taking lessons (generally speaking)?

    Cheers!

    I am 19yr old
I currently play at SFU Badminton Club and sometimes at Cameron Rec Center
Played for 3 yr recreationally mostly (one year on school team), never really learnt the fundamentals (split step, supinating and pronating) nor tactics
I developed a few bad habits (panhandle forearm), but ppl at club has taught me a bit on how to play with correct grips and form.
By taking lessons I want to learn the fundamentals, correct my bad habits, and be able to enjoy badminton a lot more

May be you should join a group lesson first

What you pay is usually what you get!!
Ask Richard or any coach that you would like to take lessons from about how many top "A" or "B" Players he/she has coached!!

Best bet right now are lessons from Richmond Area.
Visit ClearTwo and Richmonhd Pro (also visit their websits).
These centres have international coaches and local coaches.
    Or
If you can wait a bit until the badminton tournament starts and sees the results - what clubs the top players belong to.

First tournament will be VRC Summer Tournament - Aug 24-26. This is a circuit Open "A" Tournament (Best of the West). You should join this one as they have B, C, D flights (if enough people entered).
Check it out and enter on line at www.vrc.bc.ca. Entry deadline Aug 10

Currently, Bonsor's Skills & Drills is offered only for the summer.

If you want, come by Collingwood's Thur Teen drop-in session. This will give you some opportunity to try-out your skills.

I have a feeling most group lessons will start again in the fall.

    Cheers!
