I have the Yonex Isometric 75 MF light still in the factory strings. It is my back-up racket and the racket that my parents (beginners) use.

I would like to string it, but the recommended tension for the racket is 15-20lbs. I was wondering if I should just string the racket at 20lbs or a higher tension? Is stringing at 20lbs "worth it" because it's sort of low? My main goal is to improve the feel of the racket without risking its durability. Please advise.

    Thanks in advance. :)

Edit: My current racket is strung at 22lbs with BG85.

the iso 75 can easily be strung above 20lbs without affecting its durability. i'm sure any of yonex's racquets, if not structurally damaged, can take up to 24lbs without any bother.

I've done 23 on it with no problems. I wouldn't have a problem with going up to 24 - 25 lbs like Dreamz has said. However, that depends on where you bought it. The one I had was bought from a pro-shop. If you got it at Sport Chek or something, it may have been tampered with, 23 lbs would be the reasonable limit.

hmmm... 22 lbs should be fine my iso 75 is at that tension and it's doing fine for 3 months already right now and mine is from sportchek too =P so it'll be fine just i dont think you should go pass 25 lbs

22 lb will be fine. 25 lb will be pushing it. i don't think 25 lb will survive any clash.

yea but i think it'd be possible but you'd have to be very careful cuz i was going to string it at 24 and my stringer said it'd be fine but he told me 22 for me would be fine so i'm guessing that 24 is max then if 25 will murder your racket and 24 would maybe cause a crack from a clash...

mmm i had 20 lbs on mine and it made some nasty string grooves between b1-b2 and b3-b4 grommets. i highly suggest getting some u-grommets if youre going to string over 20. either that or go old school /ghetto style and put some leather in there ;)

Sorry I'm not sure what a u-grommet is, and I'm not sure what leather does. It would be much appreciated if you could clarify.

my iso 75 mflt : 25lbs using BG66. so far no problem. one clash with partner's racket, not so bad, no crack. two or three times, i hit the floor when retrieving low shots. no problem so far. maybe because the string is thin. :D
but i guess stringing it at 23lbd is the safest bet.

my brother has an iso75 at 24 lbs with bg65 it should be no problem to go above 20. The racquet was also bought at Sportchek and has maaaany chips from clashes, so far the racquet is still structurally sound ^^
