Hi, I've been playing badminton since 8. Never really went for competitive, mainly casual games. I am thinking to get a new racket for myself. I am more of a doubles player (smashes most of the time i guess). My budget ranges approximately RM250 - RM500. I am looking at the MP range. Hope to keep my budget below RM300.. Any recommendation ? p/s : I saw the MP 77 got pretty good reviews but heard it is no longer in the market ? Thanks in advance.
If range up to RM500, apa lagi (what are u waiting for ) get MP 99. they selling about RM480 with a bag, string and a grip.
Based from your high budget, I think you dont have any problem to choose a good reputable high end racket. If your money is my money then I will get either Yonex Ti10 (only RM 380) or RSL Millenium 7 @ X2 series. Hehehehe....
Priorities A racquet is only as good as the player using it. I suggest you get yourself a couple of inexpensive racquets (from Impact or Apacs etc) and progress to mightier things. The quickest way to grief is by buying an expensive racquet and getting it wrecked by your amateur doubles partner. The thing I would spend extra money on is a pair of good shoes. That, in my view, is the most important part of your kit. Use your money wisely, sir.
I do agree with Oldhand, you can get a very good Apacs racquet should you want to keep ur budget below RM300. btw Yonex i having promotion on thier MP 150 which is only RM150 with racquet cover, string and a grip. I think i should get myself an Apacs racquet as well wanted the that racquet for sometime power concept 998 at RM110 with string and grip but see how's things 1st. "Is Apacs power concept 998 a doubles racquet?"
