AT700/3U. AT900T/3U, AT800DE, MP99, NS9000S are probably the safest bets fo most players.

If you are on a budget, Victor and other reputable brands are excellent choices (as you generally will get a top-end racket for roughly the same price as Yonex mid-range)..

Add the AT500 to that list. It's cheaper, and it's very well rounded, and effective.

True, but there are better well rounded rackets for less money from other brands with more advanced construction/material as the AT500. So I would never consider that as an option..

    (but thats me :D , I would never consider a BMW 318 neither, I would only consider the M version :p )

Okay, AT means armortec, a head heavy model series from Yonex. NS is Nanospeed, another model from Yonex, which is head light. MP is Muscle Power, yet another series from Yonex, which is typically even balance with rounded grommets. Cab is Carbonex, and it's also from yonex...with oval heads. Each model in the series is characterized by the number following the model name. For example, Carbonex 30, or Armortec 700. The higher the number in the series, the more expensive, and better the racquet is.

The G number (G3, G4, G5) is the grip size. G3 is biggest, G5 is smallest.

The U number (2U,3U,4U) is the weight. 2U is heaviest (90-95G), and 4U is lightest (80-84G). Most racquets come in 2 weights.
