Malaysia dominated seeding in MS. China not send their best player, Lin Dan, probably they send many youngsters beside Bao Chunlai and Chen Yu. Please find the complete seeded as follows:

    MS:
    1. Lee Chong Wei - MAS
    2. Bao Chunlai - CHI
    3. Chen Yu - CHI
    4. Taufik Hidayat - INA Please do not lose with unknown player anymore :(
    5. Wong Choon HAn - MAS Old crack! I think he will face TH in QF.
    6. Hashim Muh. Hafiz - MAS
    7. Park Sun Hwan - KOR
    8. Yeo Kay BIn - MAS

    WS:
    1. Zhu Lin - CHI Yes, WC champion come!
    2. Lu Lan -CHI
    3. Yip Pui Yin - HKG Hope have great battle with WC champion...
    4. Julianne Schenk - GER

    MD:
    1.Tony GUnawan/Chandra Wijaya - INA
    2. Lee Jae Jin/Hwan Ji Man - KOR
    3. Jung Jae Sung/Lee Yong Dae - KOR
    4. Chan Chong Ming/Hoon Tien How - MAS
Wow... we will see gr8 battle old crack vs youngsters!

    WD:
1.Yang Wei/Zhang Jiewen - CHI Good decision from LYB to re-unite this pair
    2. Jiang Yanmei/Li Yujia - SIN
    3. Wong Pei Tty/Chin Eei Hui - MAS
    4. Lee Kyung Won/Lee Hyo Jun - KOR

    XD:
    1. He Hanbin/Yu Yang - CHI
    2. Hendri Saputra/Li Yujia - SIN
    3. Hendra Wijaya/Jiang Yanmei - SIN
    4. Hsieh Yu Hsin/Chien Yu Chin - TPE

Well, I think Indonesia also not send many top players unless TH, because TH must compile many points for OG. BUt, participants in this tournament also still good, and I believe will be thight and have good match, especially in QF or SF.

Krisna/Sandy, Do you know who are sent by PBSI to this tournament beside TH?

it seems tazari/zakry had pulled out from the India Open.....most likely due to the poor performance from WC. perhaps they receive 'perintah berkurung' from Rexy...haha.....serve them right.

Thank you huangkwokhau. But I think Jo/Greysia will pull out due to Greysia's injury.

Hmm...only 41 players for MS, 30 players for WS, 23 pairs for MD, 18 pairs for WD, 21 pairs for XD; this must be the least attended GP Gold event

Nevertheless, a very good opportunity for the second-team to rake in important points to progress up the table (since most likely they won't be competing in the Olympics anyway).

    Ex-Pelatnas:
    Tony Gunawan/Candra Wijaya :D

    Pelatnas players:
    Taufik Hidayat
    Alamsyah Yunus
    Tommy Sugiarto
    Pia Bernadet Zebadiah
    Fransisca Ratnasari
Yuan Kartika Putri (she's still in Pelatnas??)
    Bona Septano/Mohd Ahsan (YES!!)
    Fernando Kurniawan/Subakti
    Devin Lahardi/Lingga Lie
    Ahmad Tantowi/Viki Indra Okvana
Jo Novita/Greysia Polii (doubtful, due to Greysia's untimely injury)
    Yulianti/Dili Puspita Richi (YES!!)
    Nitya Krishinda/Lita Nurlita
    Devin Lahardi/Lita Nurlita (YES!!)
    Ahmad Tantowi/Yulianti (YES!!)
    Lingga Lie/Nitya Krishinda
    Viki Indra Okvana/Dili Puspita Richi

    Djarum players:
    Andre Kurniawan Tedjono
    Ari Yuli Wahyu Hartanto
    Wisnu Haryo Putro
    Maria Febe Kusumastuti
    Maria Elfira Christina
    Rian Sukmawan/Yonathan Suryatama Dasuki
    Meiliana Jauhari/Shendy Puspa Irawati
    Yonathan Suryatama Dasuki/Meiliana Jauhari

It's quite unlikely that any of the Pelatnas players will even be in contention for the medals. I will be more than happy if Bona/Ahsan, Yulianti/Dili, Tantowi/Yulianti and Devin/Lita can enter the QF,

I don't see good opportunity for Indonesia youngsters in this tournament, especially in WS. Pia must face Zhou Mi in the 2nd round after bye. Tommy Sugiarto many times get bad draws. After bye, he must face Taufik Hidayat.. How come is it happened?

Thats even better :D As it means that Tony/Candra will probably only have Jung/Lee as the main threat for the gold medal.

Yes...very very weak..too many BYEs...I think Maria Febe has a chance to be QTR..same with Andre...

Pia played well lately...hope she can give ZM a hard time..plus they may meet in Surabaya challenge...

I hope INA youngters can take and learn from experiences....very important for our INA badminton future

Yeah, It's only possible if TH and Anup bag final tickets because both of them split in different half-draw. Good signal from PBSI to send many youngsters to participate international tourney below SS level.

Not even Taufik Hidayat, badMania? We all know he is not in his best form, but I still think he can very well win the whole thing... :)

goodness, from the line-up, it looks more like the INA open than the IND open!

Hmmmph, this Indian Open Draw seems to pit too many Indonesians and Chinese in the same side of the draw which leads to many 2nd Round and 3rd Round clashes... I wonder whether they remember to activate the National Separation rule. This is not a Superseries, thus there should be National Separation.

Taufik vs. Tommy in the 2nd round after byes? Chen Yu vs. Lu Yi in the 2nd round? That's no fun... Tommy should play against somebody from India or something. Isn't there enough players picked out of the 1 billion candidates...After that, Tommy can then face Chen Yu/somebody like him... While Taufik will play Lu Yi/somebody like him... more fun for everybody...

Why so few Indian shuttlers participating?

I tend to agree with you... I don't really know why more top 20 Indian shuttlers would not take part in the MS, WS, etc. If this kind of tournament were held in INA, there will be tons of local players who willingly join the qualification stage to have the chance to play against the big boys...

When I saw the Vietnam Challenge a few months ago, the local players jumped at the opportunity and played their hearts out... :) The support for local heroes was good for badminton in Vietnam... It should be like that too in India.

Did BAI limit the participation to the National Team members or something? I am sure many who are now in Prakash Padukonde Academy and Gopichan's Academy would love the chance to play Taufik or LCW or Bao Chunlai in the first round, even though they know they won't actually win, but it is a privilage to experience TH on the other side of the court... :D Or is Hyderabad so far away for the shuttlers that they don't have money? Or is Hyderabad not safe due to bombs etc. that the Indian shuttlers know but the foreign players don't know... :p

Now that Zhou Mi pulled out of the Indonesian Challenge... maybe she pulled out of Indian Open too? If so, then Maria Elfira and Pia Zebaidah will have a chance to duel it out for that quarterfinal spot... ;) Then face Julianne Schenk in the quarters for one semifinal spot.

I agree with Hau-ge that Maria Febe can very well go to the quarterfinals, but then she has to play Lu Lan there... :p Oh well...

If Andre beats Yeoh Kay Bin, then his road to the quarterfinals is more open. He might meet Chen Yu or Anup Sridhar there... :p Interesting...

I think Hyderabad is probably the most modern city in India, clean and safe. Better than Delhi for sure

I sure hope Zhou Mi does pull out of the Indian Open :D It's time for Pia to get 3850 ranking points or above if she does qualify for the QF.

Tommy Sugiarto is due a good draw...so I hope he beat Taufik Hidayat

is there a national separation rule for gold GP events?

yeah, i agree with badmania, hyderabad should be relatively safe, i don't think that's an issue here.
