i suddenly thought about this silly question. which shot in badminton do you think is the most difficult to master? i am sure there are more, but this should cover most of the more popular ones.
The shot I would vote for isn't there: the short serve in doubles. It's the easiest and hardest shot all at the same time. Wayne Young
serve is ok, the shuttle is control by me first, from my hand. other than serve, shuttlecock is shot from opponent, no total control where is the contact point....
I'd vote for the straight netshot. Because you have no margin of error and the shuttle always aproaches you differently (when you opponent does a netshot). It's not about being consistent, it's about control, feel and anticipation
Not really the serve, but rather the receiving of it. I see most rallies end quickly with a botched return of serve.
i voted smash because its hard to master a really good one... but hardest shot i would have to say is FULL cross court backhand clear (HIGH).
For me Cross Court Netting ... still weak .. the shuttle still not lower enough.. The most "Masters" ! i had -- Smashing and defend . of course lah.. for double oriented player's
Backhand cross court smash Backhand cross court smash. Even more difficult from baseline, have you seen any pro player doing that......................... I can do all the shots listed in a decent manner above if my opponent is slower than me and I can move to behind shuttle fast. Footwork is the ONEs, and fast footwork will make you very very solid.
IMHO, assuming from the baseline, definitely the backhand cross court drop (BCCD). So far, every pro that I spoken to about this subject has said the same thing. They don't use a BCCD unless they have to. Locally, Coach Alex Liang has the best BCCD I've seen. It's smooth, tight over the net, deceptive, and very consistent. He burns a lot of opponents with that shot.
Back Hand cross court by far is the hardest...sometimes it can become a cross court lift half court. When that happens it sucks..
Maybe TH has done it before he is the back hand expert..correct me if i am wrong i think he has the fastest backhand smash if i am not mistaken..
i've seen a pro do a jumping backhand cross court smash! hahaha, and he pulled it off as well, mainly because the opponent wasn't expecting it. as for me, given the choices here, my vote apparently is the majority vote. i'd vote for backhand smash as well, if there was such an option.
Second that..!the shuttle mostly goes to the middle of the court which allows the opponent to smash hardly at me X_x
