How to check if a racquet is genuine?
Recently, a friend of mine says his colleague can get brand new Yonex Nanospeed 9000 at very low price. So, how do you think I can check if it's a genuine product?
How much is a genuine Yonex Nanospeed 9000 in the market now? (in Malaysia)

Goodness me! I was offered one for RM280 only! That's less than half of the price.
Now, tell me how to check if it's a real product?

do a search, there are many threads here which give pointers on how to spot fakes.
at such a low price, i would say, chances are, it is probably a fake.

That's difficult. Need to go to a shop and look at all the details... even count the grommets.

eheh well that too. On the countefeit on, the grommets look phony as they look like cut tubes at worst.

prelimary check, check out the serial number at shaft and cone 1st.
and yes, you need to check out all details before can really know whether it is fake or not. so far, i didnt really see any sports shop in malaysia selling fake yonex. more on personal selling guys....

Try swinging it, and bending, make sure you can get hold of the seller, if it turns out it's not genuine.. Those are the best and simplest way.. trying to look at serials, piant-jobs etc.. Is just not a very good way to spot a fake i think..
If you dont want to buy form trusted sources, don't know how stiff it should be and how it should feel to swing and play.. You probably would be better of with a inexpensive fake than and expensive original any-way

Well in my experience the easiest way is by looking at the butt cap. It's usually much more blurry that real yonex rackets. And at the bottom where it says "Japan" should be sharp, rather than hmmm blotchy

nowadays, those fakes can really match the original butt cap. maybe, just maybe the fake manufacturer took and use the original yonex's butt cap where as the racket is broken/damaged(panda did rip off so many yonex, dont know where he dump them or bury them, not mean panda provides to fake manufacturer).

nope, you'll still have your hand and senses, to evaulate weather it plays as it should in real play.. If I can't "feel" the difference.. then I wouldn't care to much anyway (if they can sell it at 20% of orginal price having the exact same technology, protperties, it would just indicate the original racket is hugely overpriced :-) )
