Recently, a friend of mine says his colleague can get brand new Yonex Nanospeed 9000 at very low price. So, how do you think I can check if it's a genuine product? How much is a genuine Yonex Nanospeed 9000 in the market now? (in Malaysia)
Goodness me! I was offered one for RM280 only! That's less than half of the price. Now, tell me how to check if it's a real product?
do a search, there are many threads here which give pointers on how to spot fakes. at such a low price, i would say, chances are, it is probably a fake.
Look at the genuine one and look at the details - That's the key. Once you know this, you should be able to look at the counterfeit one and notice differences which gives it away easily.
if you want to buy the fake, pls get it at RM200 and below... check the grommet, if not mistaken, i did notice number and position of holes are different. colour is different too...
eheh well that too. On the countefeit on, the grommets look phony as they look like cut tubes at worst.
prelimary check, check out the serial number at shaft and cone 1st. and yes, you need to check out all details before can really know whether it is fake or not. so far, i didnt really see any sports shop in malaysia selling fake yonex. more on personal selling guys....
erm..what do we do after we checked the serial number?how to know whether it's original or not ahh...
Try swinging it, and bending, make sure you can get hold of the seller, if it turns out it's not genuine.. Those are the best and simplest way.. trying to look at serials, piant-jobs etc.. Is just not a very good way to spot a fake i think.. If you dont want to buy form trusted sources, don't know how stiff it should be and how it should feel to swing and play.. You probably would be better of with a inexpensive fake than and expensive original any-way /Twobeer
Well in my experience the easiest way is by looking at the butt cap. It's usually much more blurry that real yonex rackets. And at the bottom where it says "Japan" should be sharp, rather than hmmm blotchy
nowadays, those fakes can really match the original butt cap. maybe, just maybe the fake manufacturer took and use the original yonex's butt cap where as the racket is broken/damaged(panda did rip off so many yonex, dont know where he dump them or bury them, not mean panda provides to fake manufacturer).
nope, you'll still have your hand and senses, to evaulate weather it plays as it should in real play.. If I can't "feel" the difference.. then I wouldn't care to much anyway (if they can sell it at 20% of orginal price having the exact same technology, protperties, it would just indicate the original racket is hugely overpriced ) /Twobeer
yep, agree with twobeer.. if the faker can make totally the same down to feel, property, then the real one overpriced. but then again.. not sure how long the fake will last. i tried a few of the fake one to see the difference, and it does not last at all. one of them still using stock string, not clashing or hitting frame and it just break and cave in after about 1 month.
Yonex will track down the guy and sue him. t-joint is technology registered by yonex. if want to get a same feel, people may just get other brand than buying fakes. A. original dvd = USD30 B. pirated dvd = USD2.50 (exact audio/video quality to original) pick one..... no offence, twobeer buying whatever rackets are much due to personal mindset. some people prefer fake yonex, so can show off? some people will just take real yonex for technology or peace of mind or etc... some people will just buy Apacs rackets which is look-a-like to yonex. some people will just settle for RSL, SOTX, Victor or others for well-priced technology rackets. cheeeers beer...... material used to produce racket, sure will determine the durability too. whether to use grade A or grade D quality. of course, higher grade will cost more.
DVDs, music, litterature etc are not valid comparisons.. When you pay for a racket you really pay for the "thing"... When you buy a movie on a DVD you are not "really" buying the plastic disc physical thing.. You are buying the content.. Not the same thing at all as buying a racket, car, LCD-TV, phone etc I agree, that It is of course never any good to buy fakes!! What I stated is that fakes can really only survive under two conditions. a) ignorant consumers, that just buy products based on brands/design than based on informed decisisions abaout the specific properties of the product. b) overpriced producs, that can be produced, distributed and sold at a fraction of the original price, having the same quality and properties. /Twobeer
