The facebook page for the Glenunga group is here. It has information about our sessions and videos of some of our members playing.

We are down to 4 courts at the moment due to school renovations but we had warned all our members about it on facebook. Numbers have been just about right for the last couple of nights..

Hi there,
I am pretty much a beginner, and been playing with friends every week for the past 3 months.
My skill is improving bit by bit but I don't think I have the proper technique/footwork. Pretty sure they way I smash is not correct too.
So, I am thinking to get serious on improving my skill. I am thinking of hiring a coach. Does anyone know where I can find a Badminton Coach in Adelaide?
Thanks

Send me a PM and I'll get someone to contact you about training.
Alternatively, post a message on our Glenunga social badminton club facebook site and one of our members will get back to you.
I think there are training sessions on the weekend at Lockleys near the airport.

It's hard to find a coach in Adelaide if you're not a junior. I think both Sturt and Glenelg badminton clubs offer coaching/training sessions. But they don't advertise the times, because they don't want it to get too crowded. You need to join one of the clubs and then ask around.

Hey I'm from Msia and will study in Adelaide very soon, would like to know where is the most suitable place to play for a A grade player, and how about the transport to those places? I'm staying around central market

It's good you're central in the city. Makes transport a little easier.
Lockleys is the main place where they hold regular weekly competitions for all grades..
Look at the other links that were originally posted to see where you can go..

The two unis in the city may have some sessions and be easier for you to get to..
You can come to glenunga high and meet lots of people to play with but it can get busy at times.

If you want to play in the weekly A grade competition, you'll need to join one Glenelg, Sturt, PAOC or Adelaide Uni clubs and ask them to put you on a team. See the Badminton SA web site at the link in leongwaipak's post. Winter season usually starts in April or May. For social games, just drop in to any club and see who's there. Usually there's a range of standards from beginner to A grade. If you're near the central market, it's easy to catch a bus to most locations.

How about the Transport back from the venue? Since at night the buses aren't on time

How about the paoc club, have they started their session?

Most clubs will finish around 10 p.m. Buses usually run until after 11. So if you study the bus timetable and make a plan, you should be able to manage.
No. Most clubs take a break over Christmas and New Year. If you want to play this week, Glenunga is your best bet. Glenelg start on January 13th. PAOC start on February 3rd. I'm not sure about the other clubs.
