    Hello,

I actually thought UniSA was cheap. It’s been a while since I went, but it was $5 for something like 5 hours?

Here are some other clubs you might be interested in looking at.

    Club: Sturt
    Venue:
    Seymour College
    When: Friday 6:30-9:30pm
    Courts: 6
    Shuttles: Feather
Cost: $7 non member, $5 member, $4 and free membership if Under 15. Second night free.

Notes: Wide range of standards; quality coaching available at no extra charge. 5 members of the SA Team that won the recent 2007 Ede Clendinnen Shield (National Comp.) started out at this club.

    Venue: Urrbrae Agricultural College
Cost: $5 (no membership fee required)
    When: Tuesday 7:30-9:30pm
    Courts: 4
    Shuttles: Feather

    Club: SPOC
    Venue: St. Peter’s College
    When: Thursday 7:30-9:30pm
    Courts: 4
    Shuttles: Feather
    Cost: ~$50/year or $5 a session

Notes: Good inner city location, and the one off annual membership makes it one of the most affordable places to play feather.

If you are talking about UniSA Magill, it's AUD10 an hour (new courts).
    Other places I know of,

    Glenunga High
    Monday, Thursday = 7.30 - 10pm , plastic, 6 courts, 2 bucks
Sunday = 2-4pm (not too sure), plastic, 2 bucks

    Prince Alfred College
    Sunday = 11am-1.30pm, feather, 6 courts, 4bucks(student)/ 5bucks(social)

    Marryatville High
    Monday = 7.30 - 10pm, plastic, 6 courts , 2 bucks

    Coincidentally, I live in Adelaide!

Well I know that you can play at (that many people don't really know about!):

    Casa Marion Leisure Centre
    9:30am to about 12:30am
Cost: Unsure. Think it's about $5

    Seaview High School
    8:00 pm to about 10:30pm
$4 for students, $5 for adults

Lockley's Badminton Club (probably the best place to play if you're good)
I'm not sure about the times when you can play.
Cost: Unsure (I haven't been to this one before!)

Anyway, these are the ones I know off by heart. However, judging by your local area, these badminton courts may be too far to access.

UniSA Badminton Club @ Adelaide High School

    Saturdays 1pm - 5:30pm (sometimes later) - feather

Membership was $35 for UniSA student/staff / year
$15 for a stamp card (which is 10 sessions), or $10 for a 6 session stamp card

Works out (if you attend regularly), $2.5 a session for 4.5 hours with feather, so not sure how its expensive

But next year, prices will go up; we need the money. This year was a loss due to VSU, so survival = difficult without money income

EDIT: no sure on non-UniSA members; there is an association fee (which covers accidents), that the Uni enforces on each sporting club; its not much I dont think (if you add up the prices, it's still cheaper than other places)

    EDIT: $5 for casual hits

    Where to play in Adelaide

The Badminton SA website has a full list of places and times to play in sunny Adelaide:

    http://www.badmintonsa.org.au/badminton-sa-where-to-play.html

The list doesn't usually tell you the standard though. As a general rule the venues can be divided into 'Clubs' and 'Places where badminton is played that aren't clubs'. The clubs are usually of a higher standard and usually play with feather shuttles. The other venues often use the dreaded plastic shuttles.

If you'd like to make the short 20 minute drive up the freeway to the lovely Adelaide Hills one Friday evening, I'd love to see you at the Ranges Badminton Club in Heathfield. We cater for Juniors and Adults and full details are at our website: www.rangesbadminton.net.

    Cheers,
    Clive Conway

Lockleys is definitely the best the courts are good rubber and the lighting is good, however it's a bit more pricey i think because of the demand, i think i made a mistake with the price before, i dont know exact price cause it varies.
