I use durability string Bg 85.Im not sure. but when i saw somebody good, really good, use a normal racket his smashes were slow but when he used a nice racket his smashes were extremely fast. Well my lobs and smashes are quite strong but they dont make the sound and are kinda slow and i have the right form. so if i use those strings that have high repulsion will make lobs ans smashes become stronger?

BG85 is almost tops for repulsion. If you're having problems, most likely your tension is too high. What tension did you string it at?

If I'm correct, Yonex BG85 is already high repulsive.

edit: Wow fishmilk, you posted just before me, makes my post a bit useless :p

BG85 is not that durable...it's very high repulsive...if you're not getting the sound out of it, you're probably slicing teh shuttle a bit. Remember to pronate your forearm during your stroke so the racquet face hits the bird squarely. Or you can reduce your tension, as 24lbs with BG85 will seem very tight compared to 24lbs on a thicker string.

heheh i've sure learned my lesson on how guages of the string affect how much power you can force out...23lbs of bg 66 feels like 25-26lbs of bg80 @@. Try lower tension // try recording your self playing then matching ur technique to a pro's swing.

Just like others already mentioned, BG85 is NEVER meant to be durable, as it's very thin. The reason you get weaker strokes, might be the string tension is out of your comfortable range (could be too low, but mostly might be too high). Also, technique might be another factor as well.

Try stringing your racket at 22lbs of tension. Its likely, many ppl have said it, that the tension your are at is too high for you.

Can you check? Is it possible BG65, not BG85? Also, Prince badminton racquet sucks. Demo or borrow racquets to fins out which racquet is best for you.

Ahh, I see. How long have you been playing badminton?

BG-70 Pro is a string for power hitters.

Bg-66 is better for repulsion and it's also better for sound.

for (not too high) string tension of 24 lbs., better put a "high repulsive string" like the yonex bg80 or the bg85 series but the hitting sound is not as impressive. try the bg 68ti for better hitting sound and for high repulsion.

however, if you still insist for a "durable string" that can provide better repulsion as well, i recommend the new rsl love tension LT'70:

i find this string 2x durable than the bg65 and even 2x the repulsion at 26 lbs string tension.

this is definitely a technique problem don't worry about the string Ken because it wont make a difference at your level except waist money on more expensive strings, try 22Lbs and use BG65
