I have heard lots of rumors that some particular color of BG 66 is stronger than other color. For example some people say white color is better than other color . Other say yellow is better than other color . Is it true? How many of the color of BG 66 are there?
Taufik is using white BG66. That's why this color is very popular in indonesia. I dunno if color affects its performance. any comment? or personal experience?
For me there's a noticeable difference. In the past, I've tried and used a lot of BG66 in many different country codes: US, CH, TH, SP, CD, TW, AU, JP and IP. The JP/US coded BG66 in white played best. They have a noticeably crisper feel than the other country codes. I've only tried JP/US BG66 in white, don't know about the other colors. I've tried the other country codes in just about all the colors. For the other country codes, consistently white plays best, then platinum and yellow, while light purple plays the worst. Not that light purple is bad but it's significantly not as "crisp" nor as durable as /JPUS white. Why? I do not know. I just know about 10 other people feel this way too. It could be the strings from abroad are subject to shipping and the heat affects the strings...I'm not certain. For me it's not a big deal. I don't use BG66 anyway. But if I did, I would definitely use white, ideally US code. If not, then SP white. JP is too expensive.
Does the manufacturer chemically treat the strings with colors? I presume white is the 'natural' color.
all pros mostly use white because it's the clear colour, make the player easy to hit the spot, and also white colour makes the ink (yy logo) more to see
I love black BG66 (SP). Too bad its not very popular here and stocks are limited. It has the same feel as the white bg66 (SP) imho.
colored strings are sold in individual packs, and i think reels are all white. I think that's why pros use white, b/c they buy in bulk.
The problem for possible "shorter life" is not because of the look, it's because of the chemicals and dyes.
Agree. Black does feel a bit slippery and the color fades. It is more "crispy" than most colors, other than white.
I just tried last night Black BG66. I think is crispy enough. BTW the tension little bit high 27-29lbs. I think 1lbs lower will be just nice for me. Still when I hit the bird on the spot ..... "BANG", nice sound. next time I will try white with 26-28lbs
