Anyone getting the Canon 40D? :) Will the 30D users upgrade to this model?

Nope;) and stop trying to tempt me!

Try to find out about the shutterlag time. Is it less than 30D?

I might get one, but a 30D + nice primes are much more tempting. ;)

i don't think he needs to try very hard! ;)

Canon ppl seems to be complaining that it is not much of an upgrade from the 30D and lacking behind the D300 in features.

Still haven't been able to glean much about this feature.

If you pick up the 1D, the response time of pressing the shutter to taking of the photo is really fast. With the 30D, there is a perceptible delay (but better than 400D). So how good is the 40D?

you also have to take into account the AF speed as well as the shutter lag.

i tried my sister's 20D over the weekend, while the shutter lag is only 10ms difference, the AF speed is day and night between the 20D and markIII.

I know, I know. If the shutter lag wasn't very different, then I would stick with the 30D. Having only one variable different wouldn't make much difference but AF with decreased shutterlag...hmmm:p

There is a huge difference between their AF accuracy too!

I tried a 40D today. AF is definitely faster compared against the 30D. Shutterlag time still a bit difficult and doesn't seem much different. Shutter sounds a bit 'clunky'.

Shutterlag time may not have so much difference.. but in real time .59 and .65 milsecs does make a difference. And its much queiter than 30D.
