I am making a badminton short film and I need some help from the group. Are there any existing badminton films that already exist out there. Not the YouTube films of tournaments, but films centered around badminton, like Dodgeball or Ball of Fury.

Wah:eek::eek: Are you a independent film director or attached to any big names org? Ants(our famous BC member) did suggested to Stephen Chow to make a shot on film for Badminton before.. But somehow the later might be too busy with his film bzness in HK...
I am eagerly waiting for the movies :p:p
You could write a script something like a life journey of World's Badminton Legend. Get the recorded match of him/her.. Add in some dramatic ingredients..
I am sure it will be the big hits in the international cineplexes ;)

Hi Samuel. I am an independent film production company and this will initially be a 10 minute short to be entered in the international film festivals. If it is well received, then I will expand it to a feature length film.

Hi Fernleif . It it was a short length movies. I would suggest you highlight some couples of unforgettable moments/shots/matches.. Interview with some players .. And you need to add some popular music in the background. It will definitely growth interest among the youngster..

something helping to wash away the negative puplic image of badminton being a 'sissy' or otherwise 'easy' sport would be excellent.

reality tv, get a noob and make him learn play badminton by playing local/national pros. In games. Until he falls down in exaustion.
    bwahahaa.
    srry thinking aloud.

Screenplay has been written, cast has been set, funding is in place. And, it definately is depicted as a very difficult sport. Thanks for all of your comments. Filming is to start this month, so I will keep you informed.

How about a similar theme to the film 'Wimbledon' - stories about success, failure and love?

Yes, that is what I am going for. Not the comedy that they did with Dodgeball and Balls of Fury, but the love of Wimbledon.

There was an Indonesian movie "Sakura Dalam Pelukan".
The actor was Lim Swie King. If I am not wrong, the movie was made in the late 70's.

Can someone tell me how I can get a list of the top ranked badminton players and how best to contact them? I would like to include a cameo or two from some top players.
