    Here you go.. the Review.

    Review Date : September 07
Racket Type : Yonex ArcSaber 7
    Specs : 3UG4
    Strings: Yonex Nanogy98 ( Supplied )
    Tension: 30lbs , 1 Piece Stringing
    Stringing Machine : Yonex ESPRO
    Grip: Original Grip
Technology : CS Carbon Nanotube, Newly built in T-joint
Shuttle Used: Yonex Official and Yonex Tournament

    First Impression:
ArcSaber is adapted by the Japanese Amine. It is one of the weapon used commonly by the Anime Characters in Japan. The racket Arcsaber 7 however looks fresh for a change from the normal color ways. This time Yonex put in white and striking yellow at the frame. Probably they want to emphasize on the technology that was incorporated in the frame of the racket. From the way I see it, the racket does looked like improved version of NS series… more on the NS8000 side just by the looks.

    Stringing Impression:
Stringing this racket is relatively easy. Just by the feel itself and see how the racket reacts to the tension when it was pull proves that Yonex’s R&D has improved. I can see that this racket is durable. Comparing to other rackets… this racket seems very stable when strung.
An unofficial report claimed that this racket was strung up to 36lbs!

    Warm Ups:
Everything looks and feel fresh. Arcsaber 7 looks good on court too. The racket feels a little flexible. But what I like during the warm-ups session is that this racket provides better control and feels Solid. It does not have much vibration as well since my test routine is to mishit the shuttle with the frame to see how it feels. Even the sound is different. Baseline drives is solid and I can in a way hit the shuttle where I want it to be. Good control. I had some good swing, not much drag and can feel some torque as I execute some smashes. Need a little more effort to control my flat drives.

    Game Time:

This racket feels good when you are playing in the front. I had more confidence when playing net and even cross netting. However I have to approach the net tiny little earlier or the shuttle will just fall back in my own court. Probably I was having a bad day playing the net. However I would still say that this racket performs well in front. I was a little disappointed by the smashing power ability of this racket. It does offer some Kill points. But not as good as I expected. Flat drives and maneuverability is good, but I have to put more effort to generate the momentum that I wanted. However it feels nice to handle the racket. Defense on the other hand is not up to my expectation. But I still have high hopes of using the racket more often.

    Conclusion:

Even this racket may not be perfect. But it is still good enough for the intermediate players with lower price budget. The new grip base have a better support so you will not feel that the racket will fly off your hand when you smash. Comfort wise is there. As far as the looks go it’s my personal favorite. Once you used this racket.. you will surely want to know whats in store next. I does hope that there will be a slight head heavy version of it. Then it would be great. I'm sure Yonex will do something about it.

From what I can see in this ArcSaber 7, there will be much more in store for us from Yonex in year 2008. And I’m definitely look forward to it.

I would rate this racket in terms of Feel, Control, Power and Defense. However it is based on my own test and review. It may vary depending on the player, tension and what string you use.

    Feel: 8.5/10
    Control: 9/10
    Power: 8/10
    Defense: 8/10

Pros : Good control, Durability, Easy swing.
    Cons: Lack of power

    Suitability : Intermediate/Advance. Singles/Doubles racket
