I am looking for a group where i could join. I have been playing for more than 3 years now. I am a filipino and just migrated here in US. I want to continue playing badminton.
Chetong18, I hope you found a place to play. There are quite a few choices in Orange County. You can try the GYM at the South Coast Chinese Cultural Center. Do a search in this forum for "SCCCA". They are open Thurday, Friday, and Saturdays from 7pm to 10pm walk-in fee is $7, annual fee is $400 Woody
go check out www.ocbadmintonclub.com, lots of badminton fans from the Phillipines, hard core badminton fans. check it out ....
Filipino Garden Grove hi im macoy im in the garden grove area too i just came here for quite a while i was looking for a place to play too i was told that in bolsa recreational center that they play there wed night but i havent check it out maybe tonight
oh....if I know this sooner I would invite you guys to my gym, Garden Grove High School. We opened M-F from 6-9:30. But, badmin season is over. We don't know when we can open the gym, sometime, M, W, or F by the way, there is a new gym at NewHope and Mac Fadden. $10 for a month for 4 Fridays or $12 for week days.... Or, Santa Ana college, 1-5pm every Sunday (free), after that we can go to Bolsa, 5-8 pm (3 bucks)..
thanks a lot i went to bolsa last night but badminton is every thursday, sunday 6-9 thats right (3 bucks) its been awhile since i last played so hoping to play soon
Sup, you guys should come to Santa Ana College on Sunday, courts are pretty decent, there are always 1 or 2 court open, we need more people to play with. Bolsa Grande place is ... bad IMO because of the way they are operating, bunch of kids (highschoolers) running around sign up on all the court when they are only allow to sign up one court only, sometime you gotta wait 30 mins while they jumping court, suck eh? so if you are shy, better find some place else. SCCVA in Irvine is good, nice people there, you can find your match quickly, 7pm-10pm you usually can play good 5-6 games easily. If you decide to play often, annual membership is recommended, 7 bucks/night for me is still a bit much, but it's ok, I get to play alot ever since I go here, hours are Thursday, Friday, Saturday, 7-10, Sunday 3-6 (not sure) since I go to Santa Ana College on Sunday. OCBC, too expensive, only for hardcore players. I don't know about the other place on NewHope and McFadden, do you have the address? I'd like to check it out.
thats right i was there yesterday night i only played once literally ,so crowded the line is too long and they require a id system you got to pay (5bucks )for the id card or you wont able to play i havent check the new gym at mc fadden,(thanks for the correction sun 5-8 oc2007) ill try playing at sta ana thanks alot again for the info.my off is tues do you know any gym that plays on early hours
hey hkbsah....U said there is one place on New Hope n MacFadden? can you show exactly where that is? thank you
I'm still searching for that place at NewHope and McFadden. But the SCCCA is at 9 Truman Irvine, CA 92620 done with my finals today, i'll be playing all out this week.
wow... this is such great info. I've never known so many places to play badminton other than at community college. thanks for the info.
how about saturdays non-evening where can i play on saturdays between 8am to 7pm around orange county?
get up around 6:30am then go to Garden Grove Recreation Center, we play until 9 am. Saturday night at SCCCA is very good, not so crowded, you get to play alot, and i mean alottt. But it from 7pm-10pm. Other than that, I don't know, but Sunday, come to Santa Ana College 1pm-5pm.
are the 6:30-9:00am at Garden Grove Recreation Center and the 1:00-5:00pm at Santa Ana College still available?
Is the badminton court at SCCA open to everyone? or is it only to members? Is it still open on Saturdays? if yes, what time? thanks
Went to santa ana college last sunday. The gym was closed. Well, not closed, but no one was in nor was it being used.
