as you can see from the photo, there is a sunken grommet on my yonex aerotus 55. other grommets also seem worn out. what can i do? where and how too.

i don't know why i can't see the picture, office firewall most likely. but a sunken or broken grommet, unless it's like the special MP grommets should be easily replaced, all decent stringers will have spare grommets which they should change for you when you restring your racquet if they feel it's too worn out to be used again.

so i'll just bring it to a 'decent' stringer and they will do it for me? thats convenient.

need to wait for awhile for the photo to load......:)
the grommets are badly damaged. should have replaced them at earlier stringing job, as per Dreamzz mentioned above.

    llpjlau,

Normally a decent stringer will do it for you without asking. However it looks like you will need to ask because those grommet are pretty bad and should of been replaced much earlier as others have mentioned.

But it seemed that all of the grommets are badly damaged. You might have to pay a sum to change all the grommets.

i got it secondhand last year so i guess the last job was about 10 years ago? no idea.
it's only a sideline racket though. i dont use it at all. so is it worthed the money to change all the grommets ?

if just few grommets, the stringer will just f.o.c
if you want to change all grommets, you just need to pay for a small sum. is worth to change all.

the last time i changed all my grommets (well, there were about 8-10 damaged ones so i just removed them all myself) my stringer charged me RM10 or about USD3 to replace them all. normally, he replaces a couple if they are damaged free of charge.

i dunno, but i trust the guy, he charges reasonably for everything, and i've been going to him for years.

besides, i did change every single grommet, and this is a racquet that's 15 years old, so rm10 for 15 years is a good investment!

Just a suggestion. Why not get a set of MP grommets and replace the broken grommets? It will replace all 4 grommets near the throat.

ah, that moves it into the category of racquet pimping.
    that's a different story altogether.

No, pimping means making something looks better, but not perform better. Modding is a word I have in mind.

    ah, fair enough then.
though i'm not sure putting MP grommets really makes that much of a difference.
i'm skeptical when it comes to all this technology mumbo-jumbo!
    :p
