Question about the bg-65 strings. So i know it looses about 2lb. after the first few weeks. But will it keep on losing lbs.? for example if i strung it at 23, and it loses to 21, then will it keep losing its tension?

yea. bg 65 is known as one of the worst strings because of its tension. It loses it very quickly

I don't have any problem with BG65. I find it to be pretty good, in terms of feel and durability. Currently, I am using it on all my rackets. As for tension lost, I think it settles down after a few days.

Usually after a couple weeks, it starts to decrease in smaller increments that don't get noticeable, also depends on stringer skill and how often you play, but usually after the first couple weeks, the strings settle down and decrease in smaller increments.

No it isn't...its known as one of the worst strings to those who don't know very much about the true side of BG65...at high tensions it is one of the best strings...it has awsome power and feel and control at 25+lbs, and when you string it, you're supposed to string it 2lbs higher, then it will stretch out and lose 2lbs then it says there until natural wear and tear makes it lose tension...
Yea it's pretty damn nice as long as you string it 2lbs above your desired tension.

BG-65 is a very nice string. The key is to use a drop weight machine to take out the slacks.

mmmhhh .. worst string used by number 1 baddy player nowadays....
now you still can say bg-65 is worst string??:D:D
i say: string is preference for any player:)
just add 2-3 pound when you strung, the problem solved then..:D

BG65 is not good if u try to string it at low tension. But it works great above 25lbs,in terms of repulsion n control,n of course, durability.Add some 2 or 3 lbs from ur desired tension, then after it loses those 2 or 3,it'll stabilize. The problem may appears when ur desired tension is at for ex: 27 lbs, then u have to string ur racket at 29 or 30 lbs.U may afraid for breaking ur racket then..

This is my take on BG-65. If you don't pre strech the string, you lost 1~2 lb just first 2 days. If you pre strech the string, BG65 will drop < 1 lb the next day or 2. It will drop about 1 lb after week. May be another lb after another week of playing. Then after about 2% per 2 weeks. It also depend on how often you play. Here is an example
Strung @ 24 lb with pre strech and play total 6 hr per week.

    Day 2 - 23 lb
    Day 7 - 21.5 lb
    Day 14 - 21 lb
    Day 21 - 20.5 lb
    Day 28 - 20 lb
    Day 35 - 19.4 lb
    Day 42 - 18.9 lb
    Day 49 - 18.4 lb
    Day 59 - 18 lb

At 18 lb, I would consider restring if you have not broken the string yet.

PS: This is just a formula from my pass experience. Different for every user.

i usually break a string at week 4-5. ive always used 65. i string it at 29 but i left the racket unused for about a week. somehow i dont find it drop too much. perhaps would still be around 27 before i break it. reasonable price and all round string. good control, durability and repulsion. tried nanogy couple of times i still pref 65 but perhaps i havent got used to it as much as 65.

I dont have any problem with Bg65. I like the string .. probably due to high tension. I usually tension my racket at around 30-31 lbs. It is a good string for high tension. But no no for low tension.

I agree! It's a totally awesome string for high tension, >=30 lbs.

I am the opposite of you. You should add that you are an advance player, close to Pro. Otherwise, I don't know what level I am in. ;)
The opposite of you is likely an oldman or beginner level like myself, BG65 at 19/20lbs suits me best. That's without pre-stretching and with a crank machine. I even have to wait for a week or two before I play my best with it(at best is still a beginner tho). :p

I never really liked BG-65, but my days of using BG-65 were when I just started and didn't want to spend more money on strings. Nowadays, I string at about 27 lbs. If I were to give them a try again, what should I string it at? Should it be at 29 lbs since you all say to string it 2 lbs higher than other strings?
