Somebody reply? I need help on choosing between these 2 types of strings, i am considering between micropower(asian version which is 0.66) and bg66(0.66 as well). Some comments pls.
Ashaway v Yonex Strings I have been using both of the strings and can say that the Ashaway is far more superior that the Yonex. You could also try the Ashaway PG 66 which is also 0.66mm, I string my racquets with PG 66 at 23x25 lbs and they last much longer than the Yonex. If you are going to use Ashaway strings try and pre-stretch them before stringing, because the tension will last longer and so will the strings. Jurong.
Before stringing you racquet try and pre-stretch them, and you will see that there is very little tension loss.
I preffer BG66Sharp over BG66 and micropower.. I have never tried any Ashway strings "superior" to Yonex.. I personally preffer Yonex and Gosen strings.. /Twobeer
I like Pro70, but more so the nanocubic and the RX series strings.. Also the Bioroots are very nice.. /Twobeer
I've try Yonex Bg66 .66mm,Yonex BG80,Pacific-BP66 .66mm, Pacific-PC66. 66mm Ashaway-Microlegend .69mm, Ashaway-PG66 .66mm, Ashaway-Micropower.66mm (Asian-version) Gamma .64mm & recently Gosen R4X100 .63mm.(Gosen claim as their most Gosen repulsive string) When I test the Yonex-BG66, Gamma-64mm, Gosen-R4X100 .63mm, Ashaway-microlegend .69mm & Micropower.66mm,I used same type of racket and same tension 25lbs. Yet still Ashaway-Micropower.66mm is the best more distances,soft-feel, very repulsive,effortless baseline to baseline clear & sounded crispy too. My own personal rating on repulsive & power goes this way... 1)Ashaway-micropower .66mm 2)Ashaway-microlegend .69mm 3)Gosen-R4X100 .63mm 4)Ashaway PG66 .66mm 5)Yonex BG66 .66mm 6)Gamma .64mm 7)Yonex BG80 (recomended if.., the top 1 to 6 was too durable for you, and if your string always snapped.It got boom sound and hold tension better) 8)Pacific BP66 .66mm 9)Pacific PC66 .66mm (not recomended & sounded very dull) Just my personal feel,might be different from others.
Ashaway Micropower 0.66 followed by Yonex BG 66. Both are awesome strings but the MP has a better sound, feel and power.
micropower .66 for me. -cheaper -more durable -seems to be more powerful, solid feel, not as soft feeling as bg66(depends on how u like it) -looks GREAT haha
Far more superior? That's a bold statement Sir. I do not concur. Far more superior is a lot, lot. No way. But that's my opinion.
I think ashaway makes a lot of good strings, I find PG65 very very nice (string at 27-28, play at 25lbs) and PG66 is great as well (I find it last longer than bg66) as for yonex, bg80 is still a great string (recently bought a reel)
Both Ashaway and Yonex make good strings. I wouldn't know which one I like better, but I for sure know that I like the looks of Ashaway strings more.
I personally prefer the Ashaway Micropower XL (Blue 0.73mm). Reason, I string the tension 28/30, so durability is important.
Lol, So u guys prefer ashaway strings? Am i right to say that? Does people like yonex strings because pro players are sponsored by yonex? I understand that in the West (US etc) lots of ppl prefer ashaway strings? Why is that so? Climate Diff?
i switched over from Yonex BG-65/BG-68 Ti to ASHAWAY MicroPower. crispy and soundage i've tried the ASHAWAY MicroLegend too but didn't quite like it as much as the MicroPower.
I prefer ashaway over yonex. I wouldn't say they're "far superior". Yonex strings are also good too. I like the feel of microlegend. i like bg66 too but i break them often comparatively to microlegend.
