I feel just about any current racket can take 30lbs. if strung properly. For example, a Kason Lepton F2 is a 5U (77grams), I've strung it at 30lbs. without any problems multiple times. I've strung plenty of relatively unknown rackets from Asia in 4U and they all could take 30lbs. Even fake/clone/replica Yonex rackets.
How does it break? Frame shot? Miss hit? Any clash before? Need more info. Some time a Yonex can break at 22x24lb because of strong frame shot. Sir dinkalot know.
No Sir, I do not know...because I never string my rackets at 22x24. I've strung quite a few 4U AT900Ts at 30x33lbs. No problems at all.
One of the strings in the middle of the racquet just broke... It seems like when I (or someone else...) puts enough power and kind of hit it from the side, it breaks. Kind of like a slice, but it really is a miss hit. I think most of the times that it broke before was with at smash or clear, but as a miss hit. And it has had a few clashes, but the only thing that took damage was the paint.. It would probably be good to know that when it broke before, it had some various tensions (don't remember exactly what...) but it always seem to break in the middle and around middle, on the strings...
So you are talking about broken string, not racquet? If so, what kind of string are you using and what tension are you using?
WOW, BG65 at 18lb broke? How often? If not too soon, just go up to 20x22 lb or 21x23 lb. If you like the 18lb tension, just stay with it.
It is a general practice for badminton stringer to string 2 lb higher for cross (across) than main (vertical) Some like it cross 1 lb higher than main. Do a search and you will find topic on this. Unless the person string the racquet for you has 0 experience (or he/she string other kind of racquet most of the time) any modern graphite racquet will take min of 22 lb. Do a search on that topic and you will find your answer. PM Master twobeer and ask him for advice.
it's because of the shape of the whiplite racquet head. the y-shape means that the strings are a lot more fragile around the edges, and hence the string snaps more often than an isometric or oval shaped racquet head. i have 2 whiplite 900s and a 800xp, so i know all about this happening.
