Hello, folks. I'm new to this forum so please bare with me. I'm interested in learning the jumpsmash now because my footwork and shots are becoming more and more consistent. So my question is, is there a certain way your legs must move in a jumpsmash, or is it different for all people? I've seen a few state players jump with their legs curled in. I've also seen some better state players jump but their legs remain straight. So any answers??
Welcome. The topic has been covered quite extensively here. You can do a search with the search function. You can also go to www.badmintonsite.com and check out the instructional video from Peter Rasmussen on Jump Smash.
yea, only a percentage of non-pro players have a lot of airtime. probably only 0.4secs or less between jumping and smashing. some pros have almost 1 whole sec.
