kwun, how could u forget some of my 13,000+ posts? http://www.badmintoncentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2664&highlight=wang+wen http://www.badmintoncentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2638&highlight=wang+wen&page=2
one story i heard was that when wang wen was new to canada and went to check out a club, someone who is very good wanna test or challenge wang wen. Since he didnt bought any racket with him, someone offered him a crappy metal (likely steel) racket with wore out grip. At one point, wang's racket hand was all raw and bleeding. (this part i'm not sure, he got some cloth and wrap the handle and resume playing the match). He eventually did beat the challenger. If u see wang, ask him for the full story.
Wang Wen Head Professional Phone: (780) 482-0384 E-mail: wang.wen@royalglenora.com NCCP Level III Coach 1990, 1994, 1997 National Singles Champion Former Chinese National Junior Singles Champion 1999 Canadian Open Doubles Champion
Hmm..13,000+ post.. ...and counting.....Well, as for kwun forgetting those posts, that's what one gets when one has to moderate and read nearly 750,000 posts...:crying:
rofl i bet he had sweats and running shoes on, if he was just there to check out the club and not to play xD
back then, his casual shoes were prolly running shoes. His true badminton shoes are those chinese style with green soles, He won the nationals with chinese style bad. shoes. U dunno how do he is. He can play very good with t-shirt and pants on.
Btw, I have to ask this again xD Does anyone have a clip of some sort of Wang Wen in action? I really want to see him in action, haha.
if you're a member at the glenora, or know a few people who are, why not ask them to find an opportunity to record a match of him playing some of the people he works with? With Dan Kai there especially (also being a native of China), i'm sure they'd be finding more chances to play games amongst the usual drills and training. its just my guess, but maybe its just more fun when its someone from home...
wang doesnt play singles anymore, though the does play mixed once in a while (which is like the same thing eh?). And dan kai is a beast. if you want to watch high level play @ edmonton, go to the glenora tournament on dec 2nd to watch the finals.
